    Fixing center brace

You wrap the glass with twine soaked in alcohol. After letting it burn out you shock it with cold water to break along the heated stress point. Thanks! Im going to try one more time to fix it. If it doesn't work i will keep a better watch out for the $1 dollar or 50% off sales

    Fixing center brace

Its a 55 gallon display tank. I think if I would cut a piece of glass to put under the brace and either bond it withe silicone or epoxy it would help reduce the pressure on the original brace. Then even a weak bond would keep the center brace in place and make it look presentable. My...

    Fixing center brace

I tried fixing it and failed. I used jb weld 50112. This is what I did. The brace had a piece that was cracked. (red line in picture. the red circle is a pressure point where the broken piece and frame joined). I broke it off and started with epoxy to bond it to the glass and plastic rim. I...

    Fixing center brace

I have tried replacing the whole top trim. I couldn't do it and gave up on that. I found a tank on the curb. Brought it home and tried taking the rim off. I ended up breaking it and don't even want to try doing that. I have no experience in it to do it with confidence of not making it worse.

    Fix broken hood

Part of my hood broke last nights. Its right under the clips that hold the LED in place. I read crazy glue, epoxy, gorilla glue or hot glue gun would seal them back in place. What are your thoughts on how to fix this? Thanks!

Top bridge broken: Do I need to replace my tank?

I contacted aqueon with the same pictures and this was their answer. "The top frame is crucial for structural support for the aquarium. If left broken and still in use, the tank will eventually start to bow out and potentially crack or leak. I would recommend replacing the aquarium." I...

Top bridge broken: Do I need to replace my tank?

If I was going to replace it, Im thinking my best option is a brand new one. Hoping petco has their $1 per gallon sale during BF that includes the 55 gallon size. What is the issue with making my own center brace to keep the glass from breaking?

Top bridge broken: Do I need to replace my tank?

Top bridge broken: Do I need to replace my 55 gallon tank? The frame around the tank looks to be intact. it is only the middle bridge that has snapped. Could I replace the middle bridge with something to hold up the hood and lights? Or is it completely unsafe and should I replace the whole tank?
