    asterina starfish eating coral!

So of course I believe I have the asterina starfish that eat corals. About 2 weeks ago I got some frags an out then in my tank. I thought my gsp were just getting acclimated and and were a little stressed that’s why they weren’t opening. Then saw some stars on top of the frag but didn’t think...

    Sump/ATO System

I’m looking to add an auto top off to my sump and was hoping for some recommendations. I’ve never used one before but it just seems to make sense rather than fight to keep the salinity of my tank stable. Eventually I will most likely dose the tank when I eventually can get more corals. For now...

    Diamond Goby in hiding

I just added a new diamond going to my 75 gallon tank. At first my starry blenny was chasing him around the tank. Since then my diamond goby has gone into hiding and I haven’t seen him in about four days. Not even to eat. I have no idea where he could be. How long until I should start being...

Can’t find GSP anywhere [emoji35] looking to add my first coral but can find it at an

Looking to see if anyone has any frags of GSP or beginning corals like Xenia for that matter that they would want to sell? Can’t seem to find them anywhere around me. And I know those 2 examples “grow like weeds” so if anyone is trimming some of theirs back and wants to make a few dollars I’d be...

    Red Hair Algae

I’m trying to get rid of this red hair algae. It hasn’t really spread. But it won’t leave even with water changes and blackouts for a few days. I just introduced another 3200 gallon per hour powerhead to increase the flow in my tank. The tank is 75 gallons with a 20 gallon sump. Any advice how...

    Acclimating new corals to light

Just bought a colony of zoas, a hammer coral, zoa frag, mushroom and some other coral I'm not too sure if the name but will attach pictures. How should I acclimate to light and what would be the best light for them? Right now I'm running my current LED's at 60%

    Zoas

I'm looking to purchase zoas and would like them to take over the rocks in my tank. Would my best bet be to buy a few colony rocks to start the process? If anyone can recommend a place to buy zoas I'd appreciate it. Right now I'm looking at liveaquria but would like to see what people...

    Clownfish fighting!

So I've had a pair of ocellaris clowns that were only together about 2 months. Sadly one of them passed away. I recently just introduced a Wyoming White Clownfish. The 2 immediately started to fight. Are they going to be okay or should I be worried?

Ocellaris Clownfish kept with a different variety of ocellaris?

Okay bare with me. I know that you are better off not mixing different species of clown fish but would you be able to keep a typical ocellaris clownfish with another ocellaris Wyoming White Clownfish? vs

    Starting my coral adventure

So I'm new to SW and am about to dive into my first corals. I'm thinking about just doing soft corals in my 75g with my current orbit marine lighting system. I like zoas and polyps, might even get some mushrooms. Any advice for a coral newbie? Do I have to dose anything? Any suggestions of where...

    CUC

I'm thinking of adding a clean up crew to my newly setup 75g. It's newly set up so I don't want to add too many at once in fear of there not being enough food. Right now the tank is only stocked with 2 baby clowns (about 1" each). I was thinking for a clean up crew some Trochus snails and maybe...

    Start of Brown Algae

Brown algae is just starting to form after 5 weeks. And I mean barely. A little sand discoloration that is barely noticeable and some strands on the dry rock that I have. Ammonia, Nitrates and Nitrites are all reading 0. What should be my next step? CUC? Water changes? Diamond goby?

    Waiting for an Ammonia Spike

I added two clowns to my 75g on Wednesday and it is now Saturday and I've still yet to see any change in nitrites, nitrates and ammonia. The tank has 80lbs of live sand and 50lbs of dry rock. Should I be expecting an ammonia spike? The clowns are about 1".

    New Pair of clowns

I just purchased a pair of of ocellaris clowns. They were drip acclimated for about 2 hours. Salinity is 1.024. No Ammonia, nitrate or nitrite readings. The fish are just staying together and hanging out in the bottom corner of the tank. The lights in the tank are off. I was curious if this is...

Hi so I'm all set up with my 75g tank. I'm going to have a reef tank going and I'm about to begin stocking.... Starting fish

Looking for some suggestions for fish. I know that I definitely want at least 2 clowns and an anemone. Wasn't sure how tangs would flourish in a 75g. And highly considering a cleanup crew of a shrimp and hermit crab. Just filling my tank now. Obviously I have a little while before I stock but...

    Picking a sand

I'm not really sure if the type of sand to use. I was thinking about a live sand but I've heard mixed opinions. Maybe just put sand down with a few rocks and then a seed it with some more live rocks and maybe a cup of live sand.
