Unfortunately the bugs have taken over the tank as well as the algae. I've taken it outside and have decided to empty it out. I'm gonna re-use the soil however for the Dry Start Method. Would this work?
I'm really more concerned by these mosquito larvae. I added some minnows to the water and they died the same day. I haven't tested my water but last time I did my nitrite and nitrate were extremely high. How do I solve this problem? I need fish in the water that will eat these larvae cuz the...
These are some of the pics I was able to get. Lights are on 6 hours a day and there is a powerhead in the tank. It's a mineralized soil tank so I wasn't dosing ferts. I have a bottle of API leaf zone I was using but because of the algae bloom I figured it would make matters worse. There is a DIY...
Just came back after a while of not being able to see my tank. Algae has over run the floor and walls of the aquarium. It's like a cobweb on my DHG. And there are mosquito larvae in the water now. My water is not yet safe for fish. Will the little bloodsuckers survive?
Even tho the water is clear new weird things are happening. Firstly the top of the soil has gotten really brown and ugly, there are bubbles coming up from out of the soil as well. The plants seem to be doing fine except for one crypt that I have in the back right. It looks like its dying and idk...
I'll go ahead and buy that filter then. U guys said that it was bad to leave it in the tank for too long because it kills the good bacteria too. Do the plants need tht bacteria? Because if fish are the concern I don't plan on adding them for quite a while so maybe I can have it running in there...
Got home today from work and the water is murkier than ever and it's definitely got a green tinge to it. What should I do to get rid of it but not harm my plants?
Did water change. Water cleared up really well. But unfortunately the water started getting murky yellowish again after a few hours. I thought I might add that I don't currently have a filter in the tank just a powerhead to help circulate the water
Good progress in my 10gal planted. I'm using a DIY c02, high lighting, and its a mineralized topsoil tank. However the water seems to be getting more and more cloudy and green. And it's uninhabitable to fish. What should I do?
