My tank water is once again cloudy. The only time it doesnt seem to be is when I completely drain it and start from scratch. My levels are good, there is no algea, its away from the sun..... what else could be causing it? :banghead: I have seen others fish tanks look so clear and mine looks...

I changed my 35 gallon's water today. About 50%. When I tested it after letting it sit for a few hours, my GH hardness level was too high and my KH level was too low. Does anyone have any ideas about finding the happy medium? All my other levels are perfect. I wouldnt have even bothered testing...

Sounds like "new tank syndrome". Sometimes for no reason whatsoever, fish in a perfectly good tank just end up dying. You could try re-cleaning it and going for a second run. Just make sure not to use soap when you clean the tank, or anything you put in it.

A rainbow shark is the best choice. They are very good with other fish, but they can be territorial at times so make sure you set up a log or rock for him to claim as his home. He will chase other fish away from it, but I have not had a problem with nipping or anything.

He shouldnt I have a pleco, and he just eats off of the glass, ornaments, plants, ect. Mine wont even touch the sinking wafers I bought him. He is about a year old now, and I have not had any problems with him being a piggy. But, every fish is different....

It's normal I had a couple cory's a while back and they would do the same thing. They do breathe air, so thats probably why they do that. Mine would also float upside down on the surface. Apparently they like to play dead, then they would "ressurect" themselves. Have fun.

I have a 10 gallon tank, with 5 plants, a marimo moss ball, and 5 baby fish. Do I need a bubbler? I figured since plants produce oxygen then I wouldn't need a bubbler system, but I'm not comletely sure. Any thoughts would be helpful.
