I want to build a sump

I'm looking to build a sump in the future for an Oscar tank. Dimensions are 73"x27"x27"(215 gallon). It's going to be constructed of 12mm acrylic. The stock is going to be 4 oscars, 1 black banded, 1 pleco, and 3 jurupari earth eaters. Any help on this would be awesome. Thanks:)

    Bichirs

Was at a pet smart and saw a dinosaur bichir. The employees could only really tell me that they got really big 14-18". And they are very aggressive. I've usually found the info I get from there is generally wrong. Anyone have any good info on them? I can't find much on the Internet about them.

    Stocking ideas

As I snorkel in the reefs of Cancun, I realize I want a saltwater tank. My wife really wants a kole tang, so I want to build a tank for her in a few years. (Going to do a lot of research on everything before i start building.) I was wondering, what kind of fish mates can happily live with a...

    Fish suppliers??

Idk if this the right forum to go to, but couldn't find an "appropriate" thread. I'm looking into opening my own "lfs" in the neighborhood. I've surveyed my area and I have a possible location set. I'm looking for a supplier or a few suppliers for fish, tanks, filters, and the other...

    Grumpy betta

Is there any way to calm him down? I introduced him to my 45 gal community tank. It's stocked with guppies, platies, skirt tetras, and cory cats. He was doing good for 6 days or so, then he started flaring his gills at all of my fish, now he's chasing them around everywhere. The tank is very...

    Driftwood

I hope this isnt a repost; I couldn't find anything on it. I don't have any drift wood available to me, seeing as I don't have any good rivers/streams close by. Could I just use branches from my tree (prepped the same way as drift wood from a stream) for my tank? Any info would be great. Oh...

    Mystery snails

I think my snails were breeding. I have a black mystery snail and a yellow mystery snail. How do I know which is male or female (I want to say the black one is male based on next observation). As I was getting ready to do a water change, I saw my black snail on the yellow one and it looked...

    Tank heaters?

Well, it's getting colder, here in northern Ohio, and its time for me to buy a heater for my fw community tank. Is there a heater that the forum favors? I was looking into ordering an ViaAqua 300 watt quartz glass submersible heater (I have a 45 gallon tank). Does anyone have good/bad...

    Gouramis and betas?

I wanted to see what would happen if I put my wife's beta (Phil) into my 45 gallon fresh tank with my guppies and platies in it. They mix really well and no murders:). Now, I want to add a fire belly dwarf gourami and a dwarf honey gourami to my tank. Does anyone have any experience in mixing...

    Stocking my 45gallon.

After letting my tank cycle for 3 weeks, my tank was ready to add my fish from the 10 gallon (5 platies, 3 guppies, 2 baby bristle nose plecos, and 3 ghost shrimp). I want to add 5 cory cats, 3 guppies, and 4 ghost more ghost shrimp. Will the be okay? Or will I be over stocked? I would like...

    I need some help, please?

Hi, I'm new to the whole forum thing, but I figured, since I want my fish tank knowledge and skill to grow, why not join one. Okay, I am going to be getting a 38 gallon tank when I move to my apartment in a month (tank was approved by owners). I have a 10 gallon now and the fish in it (look at...
