Thanks...that's what I'll be doing 3 sections with a bubble trap between 2nd and 3rd section...now I need a to find a pump that will create a good flow with the CPR CS50 overflow box...any suggestions?
So the main reason I don't want a sump is because I would hate water overflow and getting all over the room. What you guys think about running a 40g with an AquaClear 70 and a HOB protein skimmer?? PWC every week.

I'm looking into an overflow box for a 40g breeder but don't know much about them. Is there different kinds...good or bad ones? Drilling the tank is not an option for me.
My main concern is "What if the power goes out?" Will I have a flooded living area?
Also what about return pumps...
So this is the stand I got with my used 40g breeder but after setting the tank on top I realized that the tank sits right on the lip of the stand. Also the stand seems to be put together with just glue and staples...and the wood is pretty thin if you ask me! Is this safe for my future reef...

I need to get a heater for my soon to be 40g reef tank. I was looking for a 200 Watt heater...a little over kill
