    Fighting ich !!! :(

Only known true cure is copper and hypo salinity garlic can help with the fish ammune system but that's about it as far as I am aware of...

    Fighting ich !!! :(

No it won't kill ich, at most it can help speed up the cycle an maybe speed up the fish metabolism but it will not kill the parasite.

    Ich/ High Ammonia

    How old is the tank?

    Angel help!

No, to my knowledge it would not. I must have missed the post that mentioned it, I see there is a link to a photo but I am unable to view the photo. I was going by when the OP said the fish was laying on the bottom breathing heavily.

    Angel help!

I could be wrong, but this sounds alot like Marine Velvet. If in fact it is MV the only treatment I am aware of is copper.

    Fighting ich !!! :(

Fallow means no fish, Ich needs a host (the fish) to reproduce and repeat its life cycle. If you leave the tank fallow (no fish=no host) for minimum 6-8 weeks.

    Fighting ich !!! :(

The fact that the Hippo showed signs of Ich means its already in the system. The ONLY way to rid the tank of it without using Copper or Hypo-salinity is to leave the tank fallow and put the remaining fish in QT. Ignoring the problem won't make it go away.

    Fighting ich !!! :(

UV Sterilizer is not a guaranteed cure. It will only kill what is in the water column, and passes thru the unit AT THE CORRECT SPEED, too fast and it only kills good/bad algae.

    Refugium

I'd say its normal evaporation. I would recommend keeping water on hand to top off or get an auto top off system as opposed to turning down the pump. Turning down the pump means less water turn over which means less filtration plus restricting the pump could possibly shorten the life of the pump.

Been 5 days since I've seen the eel, guess its safe to say he somehow got out although I don't know how or where he could have gotten out.

When you say "every day" how much water are you losing, you shouldn't be losing so much "every day" that you MUST add water right away or adjust a valve (unless the pump sits high in the sump). Are we talking a a few gallons a day or about 1 gallon or less? If it is evaporation, is the tank near...

    Need your advice

I use a hydrometer and take a sample to LFS and compare the reading so I have an idea how off my reading is.

    Need your advice

5 gallons a week could be normal depending on tank set-up and environmental conditions. What type of lights are you running, do you have a canopy or is it a floating canopy/light, is the tank near a window that gets alot of heat/sun. As for the fish loss, as mentioned before depending on the...

    Return Pump occasionally stops

Also, since its been about 10+ days since the OP started this I hope he has replaced the pump by now for the fish sake.

    Return Pump occasionally stops

I don't think the pump being out of water would keep it from turning on unless it has run for some time without water and cavitation led to catastrophic pump failure and if that is the case the tank would have been filled with micro bubbles prior to the failure. If im understanding correctly...

I thought he was referring to Head Pressure, which for that pump I believe is about 3.4M or 11ft. Max

    Marine Velvet...

Yes, it is the recommended form of copper as it is less harmful to fish. I can't remember for sure so someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the dose should be about 2ppm

I was actually looking at a Tomini and a Powder Blue this afternoon, but they were pretty small so I did not get them. But I did find a Clown Grouper that I am Seriously thinking of going back and getting.

I was on my way into one of the LFS and some guy was donating a Snowflake Eel and asked if I wanted him so I just scored a free 5" Snowflake! Hope the lion doesn't try to eat him.

I found a Black Edge Moray, the the people at the store said he is VERY aggressive so I'm not sure if I should take him or not. They already sold it once and the person returned it because it was so aggressive. Too bad it's a really good price too.
