Here's a pic of my 60 gallon.

I had some last year. They got to about 2 inches before I rehomed them. They didn't bother my other fish. I had platies and swordtails at the time.

I had a betta that played in the bubbles. It truly depends on the fish. You can get quiet air pumps. I've returned pumps before because they were so loud. The ones I use are the Whisper brand. You can also get valves to restrict how much air pumps through. Amazon.com: whisper air pump

They should be fine. I've had to leave fish in the bag for two hours before. As long as they don't fill the bag with a bunch of fish, should be fine. You could even see if your lfs would give you several of those bags for the fish you have. It seems like that would be a lot less bumpy and less...

How big is the tank? If it's only an hour I doubt you would need to keep it heated in your vehicle. I've moved my tanks by removed all the deco and leaving just a few inches of water in the bottom for the fish and putting the whole thing in the back seat. Just drive carefully and don't slosh...

Upgraded to a 60 gallon. All the bows are loving it!

I have one threadfin with ten regular bows and she has not problems at all. Matter a fact, she thinks she's one of the big ones and schools with them all the time.

Where are you from? With a 55 gallon you could do a few nice tetra schools. A school of 20 or so neons would be great! I'm sure there are others that can give better advice.
