    130 gallon dirted tank

Just a piece of advice from a fellow dirt user. Make sure that you do many large water changes on your new tank otherwise the excess nutrients from the dirt will be heaven for algae.

Anyone Use Hagen Bubble Ladder for DIY?

I've used it an it worked quite well, however I found that once the bubbles get to the top of the latter they are only about 50% smaller than when they started. Currently I just use a wooden airstone that creates very fine bubbles.

Questions for a new 50 gallon tank.... help me out here.

Questions for a new 50 gallon tank.... help me out here.

I'd suggest putting a layer of dirt under the eco complete. I have that current set up and my swords and crypts crow like crazy.

    SAE's in planted tank?

I have one Siamese algae eater in my 38 gallon planted aquarium and the SAE is perfectly fine. It doesn't bother my plants or other fish. I really like it because it's quite active.
