    Weird Creature in my tank...help

Sounds like a mantis shrimp. You will not necessarily hear clicking if its a small one.

    New biocube 29!!!!!!

Thanks for the replies guys! I will probably get the 180$ (eek!) of rock today or tomorrow. Then I will post some pics. Convict, how did you make your tank it looks amazing! Is there any way I could upgrade to the media rack later, or would that mess up the cycle? Also my lfs told me the stock...

    New biocube 29!!!!!!

I just got a biocube 29 for Christmas, i have taken out the bioballs and have put a heater in compartment one. Is there anything else I should do before adding water? I added sand already. How long does a cycle usually take?

    Clam, Oyster?

I'm pretty sure it's an oyster because it has no lip. It looks sort of like a thorny oyster to me. If it was a clam then it would also need high lighting to be opened up so I assume it's an oyster.

    Is she pregnant?

Yes and so will the glofish
  8. Armoredspider

    Clam?

It is most likely an oyster. They sometimes come in on live rock and survive because they don't need extreme light/supplemental feeding when young. Plus it doesn't have a soft ring like part around the shell.

    Is she pregnant?

Yes I think so, they usually breed rather easily, just change the water with slightly cooler water than the tank. They are egg scatterers so it should look normal after scattering the eggs.

    Sanitized water?

They are all the same thing except they may have different mineral levels. RO has no extra minerals in it but sanitized is most likely just distilled tap water.

    Legs

Either a serpent or brittle starfish, they are mostly nocturnal

    Eggs?

    It's probably the snails
  13. Armoredspider

What type of snail is this?

They do that from time to time, pretty much every day, idk why they need it underwater though. The nerite snail changing colors either means it's unhappy or laying eggs.

What type of snail is this?

Idk what the line is but mine has one two. In chain stores they are always mislabeled. Where did u get it from?

    16G BowFront --> 29G Reef Tank Build

The first looks like a flatworm and the second is either what you think it is or something close.

    Brown tubes on live rock

Idk it looks like weird algae. Is it slimy?
  19. Armoredspider

    Green slug

If it came with algae it should be fine. It can be a great member of the cleanup crew. You can decide if u like it or don't.

    Coral maybe?

Oh that! That looks like a majano anemone. Not as bad as aptasia but still bad. You should try to kill it with aptasia x. They will multiply if you leave them there.

What is this on my live rock

    It could be a sponge
  22. Armoredspider

    Coral maybe?

The thing in the middle of the indent? That looks like a sponge. The right of the rock has palys on it though.
  23. Armoredspider

    Green slug

Might be a lettuce nudibranch (sea slug) or a worse type. You should take it out immediately in case it can eat corals. Normally they are the color of what they eat but you can never be sure without a picture.

White eggs all over my driftwood?

Yes they are new and now there are tons all over the wood (sorry for the late reply I have had tests every day at school forever!) but they seem to stick to the wood overnight and lay a few eggs each day. I'm fine with waiting for them to go away. On another note, is there any way to get them to...
