    Sump for 300 gallon tank

With all the research I have done, I believe it to be a euro reef RS 250 with an Eco 1056 pump. I don't think this is going to handle my 300.

My skimmer is rated for 1056 gph, is that adequate for a 300 gallon aquarium?

    Auto top off valve needed

Am looking to put an auto top off valve inside my 75 gallon. I don't have a sump and am looking for something that could go directly inside my tank. Don't care about looks as this is going to be a QT tank. Thanks

    QT For new fish

Have a 75 gallon tank an want to use it for 6 weeks to observe new fish I am purchasing. I plan on running it at 1.009 to kill any ICH they may have. My question is should I just do weekly water changed from my DT with added RO water, or use new salt and RO water? Also, should I put a sponge in...

Do i need to QT Snails

I ran my DT through 8 weeks of Hyposalinity and plan on QT all new fish with Hyposalinity before adding them. Do I need to QT my invertebrates?

Do you freshwater dip? or Hyposalinity new fish??

So how are you doing your hypo treatment? I assume you start your level at 1.022, add the fish, and than drop the level over the course of several days to 1.009. Is this correct?

I wrote this post way to late. ICH explodes at 1.009. I would highly recommend you dropping your salinity down 3 more points, especially if you are doing it for only 2 weeks. It's recommended that it be done for 4 to 8 weeks. I thought you were dropping it to 1.001 for some reason, now I see...

Just curious, why 1.01? ICH explodes at 1.09. I would think going that low will be more difficult on the fish when you bring the salinity back up to 1.25. Also, I would recommend 4 weeks to get rid of ICH.

First problem with new tank set up.

Change the food. Try different types of food until you find something they like.

    Ich in my QT

Sponges are cheap so I would probably toss it also.

    Ich in my QT

Fixing the DT is easy since you only have one fish. I would take water from your DT and move it over to your QT tank with that one fish. With no fish in the DT tank for 4 weeks, you will kill any ICH in the main tank. Just be sure to do bi-weekly water changes in the QT tank to keep your fish happy.

    saltwater ick

There is no dormant stage in the lifecycle. Ich does not lie in wait for a weakened fish to infect. However, any factor that reduces immunity like changes in water temperature and quality may, in a subclinically infected fish, accelerate an outbreak of Ich. The presence of ammonia, nitrite and...

Remove fish to quarantine tank will kill the ich in the tank. As far as new fish, you should quarantine them for 4 weeks. If you are adding Tangs to the tank, I would recommend doing a hypo salinity run on them. Start off with water from your tank an do slow water changes until you get to 1.09...

    Ich

You are correct on moving the fish as that will get rid of the ich.
