New planted, about to start, advice please

The plants look good. I had ordered the middle package on the website that was supposed to be for the 30gal. It should have only been like 10-12 plants... I ended up with this giant bundle of plants. Not sure if they messed up, but I wound up with probably 50. Several will not make it, as...

New planted, about to start, advice please

Solid info, thank you. Looking into the DIY co2 method as well, not sure if I need it yet though. Petco has this little co2 jobby that says it will work for up to a 60 gal. Ever used that? It's a co2 cartridge thing. Plants scheduled to arrive today, pretty excited. Thanks again. Will try...

New planted, about to start, advice please

Yeah, little peeved on the light. Found a post on another forum for planted tanks that has a ton of light comparisons, with PAR values and such. this one didn't fair well. Gonna check lowes for a hanger temp, then just work towards a good light. Should be fine on frets for a little bit...

    Hopefully a new SW tank...

I am looking around for a full setup for sale before I jump into this tank. Would like a sump, but don't want to deal with the hob overflow. Had intended on purchasing distilled water from walmart. Its cheap, beats the heck out of RO/DI for cost. Water bill is high enough with the grass...

    Introduction...

So I got the initial message that said to make an introduction post... We have been in the FW tank keeping habit for around 20yrs, took the last 4 years off from tanks, lived overseas and it wasn't feasible. I just recently moved back to the states though, and have an itch for getting my first...

    Hopefully a new SW tank...

I have a 43.6 gallon tank according to the calculator I used. Tank interior dimensions are 29.5L x 19.5H x 17.5D. I don't have much aquarium equipment left, but I did keep two canister filters. Cascade 700 Filstar XP2 I have a 10gallon basic home setup I intend to use as a QT. The wife would...
