The plants aren't really thick thick, this is a picture of the overall tank.

This is how it starts you can see the brown areas turning white. Quickly this will turn into a white, almost clear, stem when then breaks apart.

I've noticed the stems/stocks/shoots are turning brown first. Almost all my plants are like this now on some part of their run.

Recently I had an explosion of Pond Snails in my planted tank and I think they are destroying my plants. Over the last few weeks I noticed the plant stems/shoots are going white and the plant dies off slowly. Can anyone tell me if what you see here is "Plant Death by Pond Snail".

I don't think light is the problem. Unless maybe the age of the bulbs mean they could be loosing their spectrum... I don't know how old the bulbs are.

I've attached 3 more pictures. Hopefully this will help in determining what's going on with my plants. The only think I can think of is the Golden Mystery Snails are killing them?

I know this is an old thread, but how can you tell the males from the females? I have 3 Silvertips and I think they are all evil.

I have 3 Silvertips in my 35 gallon tank with other community fish. They are chasing down all my other fish and soon have to go. I would not recommend.

Was attempting to breed pond snails in a 1 Gallon Beata bowl. I don't know what happened but after 3days the water went really cloudy. Took out about 30% and topped it off using water from my 35 G tank. It's the same water I used to set up the 1G. Now 4 of the 7 snails have died.

So of the 7 snails I put in the container on Friday Sept 7, 4 have died.... What did I do wrong..... Bought a 1 Gallon container. Filled it with water from the 35 Gallon tank. Added 7 snails. Added food. The water was cloudy on day 3 and the snails were staying towards the top of the water...

I'm thinking they are snail eggs, during the water change I noticed some of the same just above the lip of the tank. Let's hope they are. I need cheap food for my puffer fish lol.
