One of my danios' left eye has a puffy whiteness about it. Kinda looks like it's rotting off. Anything i can do to treat this? -David

i heard that some guy had a big 200+ gallon with a bunch of loaches in it and the power went out, so the water got really cold, then he put a heater in there hooked up to a generator and a weeks later had loach babies. So yea, pretty sure that one's best left to mother nature.

Recently my 4" Altum has gotten very aggressive towards my loaches and danios. He is the only angel, and has been for a while now. Residents: 5 clown loaches (2-3") 5 zebra danios 1 medium pleco 1 altum angle Any thoughts? Should i get him a friend? This is a 55g planted tank. -David

You could just try letting the parents raise them. From what i hear, they will figure it out after a few attempts.

i think i will add 3 angels, and a school of tetras like 8 or so, bringing my grand total to 5 danios, 5 loaches, 4 angels, 8 tetras, and a pleco.

well i certainly dont want to get rid of my prize Glofish, so africans are out of the question. I think i like the idea of a bunch shoaling fish. So maybe a few more zebra danios, and then maybe a school of hatchetfish or tetras? What would be a nice mid-top level schooling fish for this tank?

10g "goldfish combo". Kept a small pleco, clown loach, and 3 neons. The loach got ich, the neons lived for a while. Eventually that tank housed 6 neons and the pleco. All those neons are dead, but that pleco is alive and well in my 55g.

If i were to add like 3 female peacocks and 1 male, would that overcrowd the tank? Also, would the loaches bother them?

So it's been a while.. After my last post in the Blue Ram discussion, i had two more spawns (neither resulting in fry) before my male kicked the bucket. After he died, i transfered my other male who was in the 55g community. He did well, colors came out activity increased - he and the female...

My two breeding rams have never nipped at each other. They'll nudge and chase one another, but i've never seen fin nipping. What size tank is this in? If it's a 10g, then i believe they will be very territorial. Even with lots of plants and caves, when i had 2 pairs in my 10g, no one got along...

Nitrates stay below 15ppm. I'll consider changing out the bulbs, but not anytime soon seeing as they were not cheap. :) I'm not currently dosing ferts.. is this contributing to the problem?

I'm still having trouble with algae growing all over my plants. I dont care about algae on the glass, i can clean that, but i think it's killing my plants. This is happening in my 10g Ram tank. I have 2x20W 50/50 mini CF bulbs in there. I'm also injecting CO2, and do frequent water changes...

I have a rainbow shark (similar to red-tailed) that lives in a 55g with a blue ram. I hardley ever see them interact, but 20g might not be enough space for the two.

Ok, so this morning, i peeked in and noticed about a dozen of the eggs are now much lighter colored, and appear slightly larger. Are these fertilized eggs, or fungified eggs?

i will steal my parents digicam next time i see them. Most of the time the male sits in the cave and guards the eggs. Is there anyway to tell if he's fertilized them? Both he and the female fan the eggs occasionally, which is very very cool to see. I hope he's not in there snacking on the eggs...
