    Red leaves growing

Not sure what they are but I had them speed in a tank of mine. Nothing would eat them. Took a lot of scrubbing with a tooth brush and manual plucking to get it out of the tank. They will grow into fairly large leafs and slightly thick too. They did look net but grew fast for me. My LFS had no...

The ones in the back kind of look similar to the fire and ice zoas that I have. In case you were looking for a name on those too. But there are so many that look so similar it can be hard to tell sometimes.

    Powerhead Help

I have 2 Wp-40's in my 125 had to get a variable power supply to dial them back a little. Very happy with them. Thought about getting the 25's but wasn't sure if it would be enough movement. Much easier to dial them back. Plus I am controlling them through my apex controller too so I have pretty...

    powerheads question

On a 75 that I had I had a 1400 & 1050 was way over kill. The sand was always on the move. I think you should be good just so long as you can aim them in a way that you minimize any low flow areas.

    Is this Powerhead good?

Multiple treads(http://www.aquariumadvice.com/forums/f60/advice-for-powerhead-287027.html) same question two people suggesting a 425 for a power head. I give up. You were just asking the other day if a 425 was too much now a 750gph?

    Advice for powerhead...

You would be fine in your 15 gallon tank. I had the 425GPH circulation pump and a 294GPH return pump in a 10 Gallon tank and was thinking about adding another pump before I just scraped the whole tank. You will be good with the 425. If you are nervous about it go with the 240 and if you have...

Did a little more research on the hydor pumps personally I would still get the 425 and here is why. Price difference $1. Hydor 240 rated for 10-15 gal tank Hydor 425 rated for 15-30 gal tank Also did some looking on a couple of other forums and some people were saying that the 425 was under...

    Advice for powerhead...

You will be fine the amount of light really is not that important if you are not growing coral. The live bacteria in the rocks will populate and grow under pretty much any light. I've seen fish only tanks doing fine with just the light from the room. Doesn't look as nice though.

Nice. I believe that i read somewhere that people have changed out the impeller to slow the water flow through LR and chaeto was wondering if you were planning the same. I had thoughts of doing this in the past and never got around to it. Keep us updated.

Testing your ammonia, Nitrites, and Nitrates, You need something in the tank that will start the cycle. Piece of raw shrimp some people have used gets a little smelly after a while. When I upgraded I used Dr Tims Ammonia chloride no smell and worked well there are instructions on the website...

    Advice for powerhead...

I would start there with the power head. I have the hydor 240 in my sump and it should work well in your tank it has a nice wide flow pattern. I'd place in a similar location as your existing pump. just a little higher and on the left side wall toward the back. Amazon has them $24.80 free...

    API Phos-zorb and API chem-zorb

Have not used either but just recently tried Seachem Hypersorb (good for fresh and salt water) on my sons gold fish tank (wasn't going to experiment on mine haha) his nitrates would always run abour 20ppm now the don't go above 5ppm. I'd say the stuff works for nitrates. Seachem promotes it as a...

    Advice for powerhead...

What do you have running in the corner? Looks like it has enough power to move the sand out of the front corner of the tank. If you keep the pump where it is. Aim the output up a little and more toward the front middle of the tank and a little more up you should be good. You should also get that...

    fish

piece of raw shrimp or dr tim's ammonia chloride are the most humane approach. Tossing a fish in to start the cycle and ride out the water parameter swings is pretty cruel and hard on the fish.

    Help with skimmer!

The only way to get rid of the bubbles is get rid of the skimmer. You could try the sponge filter that should have come with it for the output of the skimmer. But in this hobby unfortunately you get what you pay for a skimmer that you can find for $14.50 is probably going to have its issues...

    Help with skimmer!

What you have are micro bubbles that are being introduced into the tank and collecting on the back wall and other areas in the tank not a big deal won't hurt a thing just a visual thing. With that type of skimmer in your tank you are going to have bubbles. Also on the surface it looks like you...
