It's been a while since I posted here, this is my 46; pictures taken today. 2 Angels, 1 pictus, 1 pleco (he'll go to the LFS at some point in the future, just growing him out), and some buenes aires tetra. Tank has been going strong for quite some time. Oh and I just got a firemouth, my wild...

Added 3 firemouths on a quest to get a pair (4 total). Also... rescaped to force the aggressive fish to rezone a bit.

What Did You do With Your Tank Today?

Added 3 firemouths (looking for pair) and cleaned both my filters, and added a third filter that I had laying around because why not?

Lighter substrate, the red pots, and the led lighting as compared to your tube lighting. Plus you have a background, I don't. Also, I add maxicrop to my water for the plants, which browns it up quite a bit.

My 46G bowfront. Just planted it, sadly a crappy camera.

    Mantis Shrimp

I've said it once, I'll say it again. if I ever put more salt in an aquarium than brackish, it'll be for one of these guys.

Very nice for a young'n. You should start practicing aquascaping now. James Findlay made a point that children can aquascape better than adults because they are less confined by a built in need to order and arrange things. Adults have this much worse than children, if you start practicing now...

What Did You do With Your Tank Today?

I grabbed the 4 corydoras out of my 10 gallon and put them into my 46 gallon. Now they school, and my firemouth has come out of hiding. Interesting. I also learned that this is one of the fish I didn't do the right research on. I'm only recently learning they grow to 3 inches, so they're a...

YAY for my firemouth brethren! here's mine! Sadly, this is one of the few times it's left color. It doesn't like me and hides from me. Here's to hoping that changes in time.

Yeah, I'm fairly comfortable in my means. But I can't just give away a tank. =\

Yeah, exactly. I couldn't just give her 100$ worth of stuff, but at 75% off? My conscience is clean. She's my kid sister, I'll gladly do anything for her, but I can't just lose 100$. :\ (especially when I just spent 500$ or so on the replacement tank, gotta recoup somehow)

Screw that, man. 50W fluval heater, an aquaclear 30, and a 5 gallon aquarium with hood for 25 man. The only provisio was she had to take my female betta off my hands. I have nowhere reasonably good to house her.

What Did You do With Your Tank Today?

There's nothing wrong with that at all. =) I just wanted to cut down on maintenance. Plus, I don't have a truly good place to put the 5 gallon, and my sister did just buy another betta so she needed a home for it. =) Also, added 2 large clay pots to my 46G so that my firemouths will have a...

What Did You do With Your Tank Today?

Last night I power cleaned my 10G walstad, and did water changes on all my other tanks. I actually retired my 5.5G as well, and sold the gear to my little sister. With the addition of the 46G, I just didn't wanna hit 5 tanks. I don't wanna be crazy fish dude, you know?

    Walsted + India Biotope

Last night I tried blowing through the tube to see how much air I could move through it. Those cans are going to be remarkably pressurized. I'm not terribly sure I'm comfortable with turning it's flow off for hours at a time... if it gets too pressurized I'll probably have a blow out of some...

CO2 kits for the 2 10s are on the way. Anybody know of any good carpetting plants from india?

    Walsted + India Biotope

Ah, I see. I don't quite understand what you're suggesting. Is there a guide somewhere? BTW, a few of my plants displayed a HUGE burst of growth today. I'm thinking I may not need CO2 afterall. I'll watch both tanks and if the plants continue to grow as admirably I'll leave well enough alone.

    Walsted + India Biotope

A timer? What would that do for me? I'm gonna see if the extra bio load makes the plants grow out first, but if it doesn't, I'm gonna add a co2 kit.
  22. N

    Walsted + India Biotope

I believe I need to add a CO2 system. I'l probably just buy the cheapy one that fluval sells. For 30$ it's a nice pretty looking kit that'll be more pleasing to the eye. If you noticed in the pictures posted above, all the plants are growing considerably better on the right side than the left...

What Did You do With Your Tank Today?

Water changes, then I fully stocked both of my 10 gallons. In total, I added 5 neon tetras, 4 albino bronze cory's, and 5 kuhli loaches. oh, and I bought a bunch of plants, too. I don't remember what they're called and I don't wanna rummage the trash to find out. My two kitchen tanks are now...

    Walsted + India Biotope

Okay, I think I'm done with it. I dropped some kuhli loaches in it, and unfortunately can't take any pictures of them. Could only find one and he's in a wierd spot where he really blends in... so it's pointless to take a picture with this crappy camera.
