Well all of my fish have died even though I was trying to treat the problem so now what do I do to get rid of this before I put any other fish in the tank

I checked the ammonia today and it is at 1.0 ppm wondering if i should take the shrimp out and i also have live sand and live rock in there to. It is a 45 gallon tank with can filter.

The shrimp has like a white looking film all over it and looks pretty nasty

I have started the cycle on my tank 4 days ago with the dead shrimp theory know i am getting green algae built up on the silicone that hols the tank together in all 4 corners is this normal

Would that be till all the ammonia is fully gone cause i was told to take it out when the ammonia hits 5 ppm

So i put my dead shrimp in the tank last night to start the cycle on my 45 gallon with 360 can filter by marineland with a little wet rock and live sand so do i still need to do weekly water changes while thats in there

Ok i just went and got a pretty big shrimp and threw it in the tank so here we go i guess its just a waiting game now any other suggestions for me i appreciate all your help

I was also going to say i probably wont do corals just live rock

For filtration i have the marineland 360 canister with filter pad ceramic rings boi balls carbon then sponge and since i have that little bit of sort of live rock i can still put the shrimp in there without hurting anything and also do you test until the ammonia is completly gone then it means...

Went and bought a 45 gallon tank just started yesterday put in live from ocean direct and put my water in and checked it with the hydrometer and its running 1.022 water just cleared up and i put 25 pounds of a little bit live rock bought it from lfs he said it was just in there like a week so...

Forgot to tell you i have cichlids

I have a 55 gallon and i have a 200 penguin and a 60 top fin 2 days ago i added 10 more fish just checked it cause i had one die last night and i found it at .50 a second ago i just did a 25% and i was going to see what happend

My ammonia for my 55 gallon tank is at. 50 is that bad or do i need to try to get it lower and how thanks

I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions on setting up a discus tank i have a 55 gallon cichlid tank now but thinking of getting another 55 gallon and can filter to run a discus tank if anyone could help me out or have great ideas i would love to hear them thank you.
