    Question about convicts

I have 3 large males, 1 regular and 2 pinks. I had a female that mated with my regular convict. After they had their fry I put the female in with one of the pink ones. He ended up killing her. So now I have 50 or so babies. All I want is 3 females. When they are little you can not tell the...

Jewel fish Fighting or both males?

Its a 55 g. If most cichlids do this, why rehome one? Edit, I'm sure one is a female for sure because she dropped an egg. Could it be the other 2 are males? The female don't lip lock with the other 2 that's doing the lip lock thing.

Jewel fish Fighting or both males?

I have 2 jewel cichlids. They are about 5" long. They seem to hang out together often. They are the plain jewels. But at times they both turn red almost looking like they are bloody and they will grab into each others lips and don't let go for about 3-5 minutes. I'm not sure what's going on. Is...

    Mystery snails, dead or alive?

I have 2 in my tank. I had the one several months, the other I have had for 1 month. The newest one started floating a week after I bought him. So every day I would check on him, he had no smell but was still floating for over a week. I took him out and put him in a cup and added 1" of aquarium...

Bought plants, but need help please

I just bought wisteria and moneywort. The pet store said they are easy to grow. I get on the net and many different info on these plants. So I'm a little confused. The plants came in little pots. Do you just plant the pot in the sand or do you need soil of some sort and remove from the pot? What...

I hope you continue to have good luck with them. When I bought them they were large fish about the same as my other fish. Maybe it was just my tank mates.

How big do bumblebee chiclids get?

The first one in the photo looks like a male to me. The top fin is more pointed. It looks just like my males body shape and fin. It's hard to tell by the photo to be sure. If a female is holding their head tends to look plumper in the head area. They also act like the are chewing something.

How big do bumblebee chiclids get?

I noticed you have your acei fish with your BB. Has yours started breeding with the BB in the tank? Mine BB eats the eggs of my yellow labs and my acei every time. Your fish are very nice looking.

Well I'm glad for that. Then my other fish can catch up to his size. He is the bully of my tank. LOL maybe then he will stop eating all of my mating fish eggs before they hit the sand to be fertilized by the male. I will watch this thread for more info. Thanks
