    Cloudy Water

I don't exactly know. But it's the only thing that's different. There's no reason that too much should turn the water cloudy, but this is the first time in weeks that the water has stayed clear.

    Cloudy Water

I figured it out. I had totally over estimated the size if the tank, and had been putting too much water conditioner. It wasn't until I moved the box the tank came in to get at some Christmas ornaments in the attic that I noticed it is only actually 5 gallons, not 7. Water has been clear now for...

    Cloudy Water

It is a hang on back tetra whisper filter. We change the cartridge every 3 weeks or so, whenever the water starts flowing over the top, but there is also a sponge inside that I don't clean except for rinsing it in a bowl of tank water.

    Cloudy Water

It is a freshwater tank. Letting the water sit didn't work, before I was doing the water changes everyday I let it sit for almost a week, and the water just kept getting murkier each day. I was going to put some live plants, but my tank is kind of tall and narrow, and I worry that without being...

    Cloudy Water

The tank has been up since the end of September, I just use gravel in the bottom. I haven't tested the water, the pet shop only has the test strips, but they have ordered me a test kit that should be here soon hopefully.

    Cloudy Water

I have a 7 gallon tank with a betta in it. I treat the water with Tetra Aquasafe Plus. Lately I've noticed that the water looks really cloudy. I do a 50% water change every week while vacuuming the gravel, last week it was more like a 95%, and for the past week I have changed 25% every day, but...

    Green Hair Algar

He gets fed twice per day, and a bloodworm for a treat every second day. We don't let it sit around, whatever doesn't get eaten gets sucked up with a turkey baster. The light stays on during the day, but we turn it off at night. We tried leaving the light off for a couple of days, but Finnigan...

He would eat the shrimp for sure. He is a real jerk.

    Green Hair Algar

Yeah, I should have learned by now not to listen to the teenagers they have working at pet Valu, but alas, now I have a real mess on my hands.

    Green Hair Algar

We had a snail, Gary, but he was very lazy and all he did was poop all over the place and make it worse.

    Green Hair Algar

Any suggestions how I can get rid of green hair algae? I have a 7 gallon tank with a betta in it. I do a 50% water change every week when I vacuum the gravel, but I just can't seem to get rid of it. Two weeks ago I had to tear it all down and scrub it all, but now the algae is back and even...

    Mystery Snail Mystery

Ours too, well from Pet Valu which is the Canadian equivalent to Petsmart. I would like to see them when they are babies.

    Mystery Snail Mystery

I don't exactly know. We had him for about 6 months, but I think he was already pretty old when we got him because he was pretty big.

    Mystery Snail Mystery

I think they're really cool too. I would like to get some more, but I think I'll hold off until I have space for them to have they're own tank.

I also find them fascinating. We just git the one to help with algae in the tank. I would like to get more, but I think I'm going to wait until we have more space for them to have their own tank.

    Mystery Snail Mystery

Thank you. We buried him in the flower pot with our fish that died last week. My son says that way he won't be lonely.

    Mystery Snail Mystery

Well, I guess snails don't have 9 lives. Woke up today to find Gary had passed during the night.

    Mystery Snail Mystery

I've smelled him enough times to know what he shouldn't smell like. Snails have feelings too!

    Mystery Snail Mystery

He seems fine today, he devoured an algae wafer, his colour is back, and he smells fine. Maybe snails have 9 lives too.
