FX5 is a great canister with a huge flow but I agree with the addition of another maybe a Fluval 406 to supplement, power heads are a definate especially if its a long tank. If its a column or cyclindar style tank the FX5 would be good enough with just a power head to supplement.

The arguement of rhizome below or above substrate would be better settled if we knew what kind of substrate. If its tightly pack, almost sand type it will rot but loose large gravel type that has lots of circulation there is a good chance of no rotting.

I have had this idea i wanted to do a sump for my 125. Basically make a sump style wet/dry, and have lobster in the refug and some heavy planting. I have an FX5 that was going to be used in that tank, but Im on the fence.

You want to cycle with decor in tank...more surface area to build healthy bacteria on the better IMO.

Bushy nose and a rubber lip....I was given the rubber lip and the two are in a 29g, they are pals. The roam all over together. Kinda odd though that they hang out together.:confused:
