The pH was 7.2, the nitrate was 40, and the ammonia was over 8.0. Is all this good or bad, and could this be the reason why my fish is like this.

I put in 4 skate rocks from my backyard a couple days ago. I boiled them and then put them in. I read that is might not be good and can change PH level. Do you think that did it?

Is there any type of amphibian I could keep with 2 oscars and a pleco? I really want to get a turtle. If I could get a turtle I will out a doc on the top of the tank. Same goes for a newt or salamander. Thanks

I know it's not good to feed oscars feeder fish all the time, but can you feed them dried packaged fish you would buy at a super market. Fish like packaged anchovies?

I bought a feeder fish for my 4 1/2 inch oscars and they loved it so I bought about 20 more today. I was just wondering how many I should feed them, and how often. I also feed them chichlid gold pellets and meal worms. I keep the feeders in a 10 gallon tank in my basement with heater or filter...

How many feeder fish should I feed a 4 1/2 foot oscar at once, and how many times per week? Also how many meal worms? I feed him pellets daily too.

My oscar had a swollen belly for about 2 weeks now. He is eating fine and doing everything normally. He poops daily too. I'm kind of worried though because I loomed it up and shows symptoms of dropsy disease. Can someone please help me!!! Here are some pictures.

I think I will just go with either some type of catfish or a larger plec. What do you think?
