    Thanks for the replies so far. I thought maybe there was a trick I am missing on water changes or something. Saw a guy say he had five tanks on here. I may be to anal to monitor more than 2.

    Looks like Cyanobacteria to me. Are you using ro/di water? How long are your lights on? Over feeding?

    The term live rock has nothing to do with what is growing on it. The stick is probably gone. The rock as long as it has stayed in saltwater and has cycled is considered " live rock".

    From your other post I can see that you are young and the LFS didn't really care if you succeeded. That sucks because I was you. I am older and now can afford stuff. If you watch Craigslist you can find rodi units. I just have an ro unit. You can get them for about $120. Or watch eBay. You don't...

    Weeks is not enough to cycle. I had a mini cycle 3 months into my tank. Cyno everywhere reduced lights, water changes every other day, and feed less. Cleared up after about two weeks. Also RO water will save you some headache.

    I followed all these forums for a year before I got my tank. Mr. X knows his stuff. I believe everything he says. Some people will never learn. And will lose a lot of money and fish in the process.

    You should think about a lot of water changes. I'm no expert but you may have added way to fast. Not sure if your bio load can keep up.

    I'm no expert but no way that tank was cycled. Way to many fish some were expert level. Sad that a lfs did that to her and the fish.
