    DO I NEED A NEW HEATER ???

try running a fan for the lights (and over the water). thats what ive seen many folks do in the summer. put it on a timer so it runs for daylight hours plus an hour after daylight to cool off. i am fortunate enough to live in a very cool northpacific coastal area, but i can get away with...

    DO I NEED A NEW HEATER ???

i am running 2x100w ebo jagers in a 42-net-gallon system and that works fine so i dont think its too much. i would just get a new heater, and an ebo at that. also, average room temp in my house is around 60 or so, not 70. HTH

Do I really need a sand bed?

i believe you do need a sandbed for certain specimens. if you dont plan on keeping those specimens, then no sandebed is required. sandbeds are great places for microfauna to thrive. removing that aspect of the environment will without doubt decrease the biodiversity in your system. i would stick...

    moving my 29g w/ 10g refugium

i was going to leave the sandbed and move the tank ontot a thick piece of plywoowd for support to move it. i realize it will be heavy, but wont it be worth it if it works because the sandbed will have little to no disturbance. i guess i could remove the sand into buckets but i dont want to if...

    Xenia help

give it time and space. dont move it around. i just put my cutting into the tank and let it float around until it found a place in the sandbed. it attatched to some gravel in the sandbed over the course of a week or two. i then set the xenia and gravel on to a rock in a place with medium flow...
