    sick leather?

Hey everyone. I woke up today around 6 am, and as im not working, its one of the few times I get to watch my tank "wake up". My actnics turn on at 9 am and my 10,000k at 11 am. I noticed that even by 12 my leather has not woke up. Its still slumped over and greenish red like it is every morning...

    urchin rocking a zoa!

Thought this was cool. I had a small piece of zoa break off prob 2 months ago when I moved a rock. Just saw that my tuxedo urchin decided it would accessorize!

    macroalgae question

Lol no prob man im still reading and learning. I have the same issue. I have prob 50 snails total, and maybe two or three will be on the glass. Everything in my tank focuses on my rocks. Which I guess isn't a bad thing since I can clean my glass. The front and sides at least. My rock and...

    macroalgae question

I have a yellow tang, starry blenny, skunk shrimp, serpent star, sand conch, 4 turbos, 20 hermits, 2 emerald crabs, 15 nerite snails, 15 astrea snails, and 20 cereith snails, a tuxedo urchin, and a long spine urchin. I still have to clean my glass everyday. I do 20% water changes weekly.

    macroalgae question

I guess im just hoping that the chaeto and the carbon will help with nitrates, silicate, and phosphate. My algae issue is bumming me out.

    macroalgae question

Yeah this all started because I have had a considerable algae bloom over the last few weeks. I clean my glass everyday which helps but many places cant be cleaned due to the rock. I put chaeto in today and im gonna start adding more carbon, as all I have now is the carbon in the hob filters...

    macroalgae question

Tommy your tank looks fantastic. You look like you have zero algae. Did adding the chaeto make a difference? Do you use rodi or a skimmer? Im adding chaeto to help battle nitrates and phosphates, cause im getting quite a bit of green/Brown film algae.

    macroalgae question

    macroalgae question

I seen those and im just not sure if I would have the room behind my tank. I did however find an in tank refugium on Dr foster and Smith that is 12x6x8 that has a built in powerhead and holes for water circulation. I figure I could do that, and whatever starts growing through the holes would be...

    Live Rock Question

I agree here. I just got in this hobby myself. I bought a 60 gallon combo(which is almost identical to a 55) and im kicking myself in the butt for not going with a 75. The dimensions are so much better if your interested in corals. Its deeper rather than taller, giving you more room for corals...

    What are some beginner corals?

Im very new to the hobby myself but one thing I can add is it depends on your lights. I upgraded to a 4 bulb t5 fixture and I have zoas, mushrooms, star polyps, finger leather, frogspawn, and Kenya trees and they are all doing great. I dont run a skimmer and they do fine, but I do 25% water...

    macroalgae question

Hey all. Im looking to add macroalgae to my display tank as I do not have a sump. Im looking for something that wont spread throughout the tank, will help lower nitrates, and if possible will look nice. Also I have a yellow tang and am not sure if it will just eat it all so fast that it wont be...

    dwarf Angel question

Yeah the lfs in my area are high on fish. And im really not comfortable buying on line. But truthfully I would rather pay more to buy something I see eat with my own eyes and acting healthy.

    dwarf Angel question

Awesome videos! You got a nice tank! Im gonna prob steer clear of the potters simply for the cost if nothing else. Im too new for a fish that would cost over a hundred bucks! Lol

    dwarf Angel question

Are potters difficult to care for? Live aquaria says they are but i know sometimes they say that for one specific reason, such as a copperband being difficult to get to start eating. Wondering what the story is on a potters?

    dwarf Angel question

Im thinking of a dwarf Angel for my tank which has a few frags in it and I plan on adding more. Im sure this topic has been brought up again and again but im wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to which would be the least likely to destroy corals? I realize that its a risk no matter...

    coral on my live rock

Well the reason I asked was that I was going to order 25lbs of Florida live rock that has tons of life on it. Corals, polyps, mushrooms, dusters, etc. If curing it in my 29 gallon will kill off the life it comes with ill just scrap that idea and stick to base rock, and just buy frags.

    mushroom and polyp question

Yeah im loving it but ny wallet is still in shock lol. Thats exactly why im staying simple. I do 15-25% water changes every week so im pretty confident softies will do good. But I just dont wanna push my luck without running a skimmer. Its in my future but im not there yet. And I really dont...

    coral on my live rock

I will be buying live rock from liverocknreef.com this week and have a question for the reefers. I will be curing it in an extra aquarium I have up and running. Its got nothing in it just saltwater heater, powerhead, and cheapo stock 24" florescent light. My question is, will this sub par...

    mushroom and polyp question

Well I went with the aquatic life 4 bulb. Im really glad I did too. I love being able to program dawn and dusk and now I added some star polyps and other polyps and so far so good. All are perked up and looking great!

green and white sea slug or snail on my new frag

Right on! Im glad to hear positive responses. Cool and helpful hitchhikers are one of the things that really interest me about aquariums. Its cool putting things in your tank on your own, but seeing neat critters just appear day by day is coolest! I really looking forward to what every new day...
