He is beautiful! Mine often get that top of the mouth injury. Mine always get it from being scared and running into something. It never usually bothers them in my experience. Just keep an eye on it so that you do not get a disease, and you will be fine. Great colors! :)

Yeah, I did a little research as well, and it seems that a common can typically grow up to 2'. A sailfin is much less. I assume that is the reason. In my opinion, this is a blessing. But this is coming from someone who will only have a Bushy/bristlenose pleco because I do not want one too big.

There is another post out there right now about tetras and light. Check that out. If you turn the light off, or filter it down, do they come out? Tetras are typically a little less tolerant to bright lights. Congrats on finding an owner for your gourami. Always good to find a good home.
