Yes, I've done that and it worked out well. Just keep your filter media intact. I float mine in the bucket with the fish to keep the bacteria alive. If you have an established biofilter, that's where most of your beneficial bacteria will be, not in the gravel. Just take care to keep it moist...

Just wanted to share my 55 gal community. I have 3 tanks, and this one is my favorite :D

Az Gardens is a pretty good site. I've purchased from them before without any problems. The plants are really good quality. A little expensive though, but you get what you pay for I guess.
