Made a mistake and bought some Anacharis from petsmart. Broke it up and put it into 2 tanks (10 gallon). This morning, my 10 gallon is showing ich. Problem is, because of the specs of both tanks (other thus far is fine), I have no idea how to treat: 10 gallon: Plants: anacharis, anubias...

ich - can my fish survive the heat and salt?

I know the nerite snails are okay with salt cause they only breed in brackish water I just didn't know if they could take heat though. The apple/myster y snail is one I'm not sure about but it may be a moot point because I am beginning to suspect he might be dead :( he doesn't stink yet but he...

Don't want to ruin a good thing - Betta healing finally

Actually per the manufacturers website it also removes chlorine and chloramine... Will the moonlights all night harm them though? The big tank is now in my kids room (29 gallon and just has a few mollies and barbs) and we've already put the moonlighs in there and use it as a nigh light.

    Sick betta

In my own experience with my betta oh yes you can do too many water changes. He kept getting fin rot. The lfs that I finally chose as my go to store told me the same thing. Once I learned to slack off on the water changes to 1vtimebperbweek unless the water spike he suddenly started to heal. I...

Don't want to ruin a good thing - Betta healing finally

@bettagirl: no, he is not brushing up against anything when he is making laps. He swims far enough away from the glass and decor to be brushing up. He's been doing this from day one. He also will come up for a "snuggle" if you stick your finger in the water, and from day one, he won't even flare...

Don't want to ruin a good thing - Betta healing finally

No, the gentleman that actually helped me for once was not from a chain store. He was the owner of a mom n pop store that specializes in fw tropicals and in koi ponds. Before that, The ammonia occasionally spiked to .5, but then would sit at 0 for a week before spiking again. (At this time...

Don't want to ruin a good thing - Betta healing finally

Hello, I don't want to ruin a good thing so I thought I'd ask advice before I moved foward. Long story short ---- Betta had fin rot - treated with Maracyn, got better, then rotted again. Treated with Flagyl (per vet advice) and then combined with Maracyn and Maracyn II - slowed rot, and then...

The war to end all wars: Betta Fin Rot *Help!*

re: fin rot Thanks for the reply. When I added the salt I added it to the bucket while treating the water. The conditioner I used detoxes chlorine, chloramine and ammonia. After chlorine tested 0 in my bucket (use litmus style strips that test for chlorine in ppm for bar sanitation sinks lol...
