    Aloha from Hawaii

Ha yeah, I can see that happening!! My husband still rolls his eyes every time I bring home something new. Especially since I told him, after only having my tank for a month, that I want a bigger one. It sucks that this month the Petco here has a 50% sell on their 40 breeder or 55 gallon tanks...

    Aloha from Hawaii

I finally convinced my hubby to buy me a tank. Been asking for one for awhile, he bought me a ten gallon for Christmas. Because I live in a small ohana, I can't really fit anything bigger. Once we move though I am planning on upgrading. This is my first tank and everything seems to be going well...

    Stocking a 10 gal.

Where in Hawaii do you live? Also I hope you know that you are pretty limited when it comes to stocking a ten gallon tank. I don't think you will be able to have anything bigger than 2.5 inches.

Thank you that is exactly the response I was hoping for. It helps a lot. I can't really see the photo from my phone it doesn't enlarge. But when I get on a computer I will check it out.

Sure there is shipping to Hawaii from anywhere. Its just that shipping "live" things is not really possible. And it is illegal to harvest corals. I guess I will just research more and see what is doable.

Well I live on Maui. There are three petstore close one is Petco. The other two are local but they sell for all types of pets. It would be cool to start a lfs but I'm probably not the person for it.

Just saying that if I wanted a reef tank I couldn't do it. But whatever. Besides Hawaii is a lot nicer when you are just visiting.

Does anyone have a Fish Only tank with no LR? I live in Hawaii and I can't get LR or Corals. I am able to get a select few SW fish. But I am just curious on what a tank with out LR looks like. It seems to me like most people have LR in their tank. Definitely sucks living here sometimes. My...

    My first ever 10 gallon

This is my fist time with owning an aquarium. I am planning on this being a community tank. Because it isn't very big I am not wanting to have it heavily planted. I want to leave lots of open space for swimming. I currently have anacharis, water wisteria and broad leaf amazon sword. Current fish are

    New!!

So its been a week since I set up my tank. The danios seem to be doing fine. They are swimming all over the place, chasing each other around. Right now I have two bunches of anacharis, a lava rock (which my fish seem to like swimming in and out of), I have black sand and gravel. I am planning on...

    A question for the future.

I was wondering what kind of fish would be good tank mates with zebra danios. I am wanting a fish that can be a stand alone. I was thinking of a Honey Gourami, but not sure if it will do okay with the zebra danios. I am not going to be able to purchase the fish for awhile, but I want to plan ahead.

    New!!

My husband bought me a 10 gallon tank and gave it to me as an early Christmas gift. I have set it up and added Zebra Danios for cycling. So far they are doing fine. Lets hope the first couple of months go well. I plan on using this site to learn lots more on keeping a tank. In the future I...
