    Coral ID

It looks a like it has a few little bumps too (texture wise). I'll probably have to keep an eye on it until it grows out I suppose. it has awesome color though in person

    RODI help

Why would I risk? Because I'm cheap. I just won't use it if it tests poorly

    RODI help

I bought the cheapest portable one a few days ago, I am curious as well if these are good but for 65 dollars I'm not expecting a whole lot

What to do w/ overgrown anemone?!

Frag it and trade half in if that's possible

    20H or 20L?

One more thing, stock LED lights aren't usually powerful. But if you are only gonna try mushroom or zoanthids then it may work

    20H or 20L?

I have a 20 long and I like it a lot. A few things to consider: How do you want your rock set up? Stacking you might prefer using the high, wider structures the long will be better. Here is mine, I like the look of arches so this is what I did : Also What kind of lighting are you going...

Best place to order live rock?

Premium aquatics has great rock for cheap I would recommend their Fiji rock if you are mostly stacking. Manado rock if you want branching/arch structures too. When I bought it had extremely good corralline coverage too... Less dense than Fiji. Costs more but well worth it. Again...

    Anemone question.

Aim a powerhead at it. Too high flow would prompt it to move

Do i need more ammonia for cycling?

I would add it. Then you can be sure of a full cycle

    Whats on my coral

I think it moves as it was attached to my toadstool that I just got but I believe it moved to the plug. Unless I knocked him off I think it moved on its on. Sorry I can't get much better on these pics. Is this a polyp coral of some sorts or an anemone?

    Ordering from Reefs2go.com...

I placed an order one zoa frag and bunch of snails/hermits they all came in dead but they re-shipped at their expense. Granted they didn't notify my when they reship per which was annoying. Everything came in live, although I probably won't order again. Buy local, at least you'll know what...

    Tap water !!!!!

Curious to know if anybody could help steer me as well to a relatively affordable RODI unit

    Tap water !!!!!

Obviously I can't test for heavy metals and silicates. I do agree that an important part of fish keeping is providing the best possible environment. Would it be fair to say that the anti-tap water notion is specifically relevant/ important to reef systems? I only ask because my brother has...

    Tap water !!!!!

I'm new to the hobby but I've done okay with tap. Guess it depends on where you are. My tap water tests at no nitrate or phosphate. Not to say there aren't plenty of other unknown variables in the water. Just one town over the tap water is awful. It's all a matter of luck IMO

    Moving house

I've moved large freshwater tanks , and the key to success is to get most of the weight out (obviously) and keep the temperature stable during the move. If your rocks aren't glued down really secure, I'd say transport them in a bucket separately. Drain at least half to 3/4 of the water and use...

    20L Lighting advice

Thank you. The rock was from premium aquatic, uncured Fiji and uncured manado. A piece of base rock as well. They sent me more rock than I had ordered, which was bittersweet, but I tried to make the best of it. As for lighting, I'm glad to hear my options aren't too limited. Not too tempted...

    20L Lighting advice

Recently set up my first 20 gallon (long) tank. It is fully cycled, everything is in good shape I've got some snails and hermits in there taking care of business on my live rock (25 pounds or so). No fish yet, waiting to get some black misbar clowns from the LFS. The light I have on top is a...
