Need help identifying this. It is red and has what looks like tentacles on one end it is moving around. It is small and on the front glass. Good or bad?

So is this diatoms? (Probably not I know) or cyano? I had battled some cyano that was on sand bed surface and on rocks and beat it. I thought this was diatoms but its not going away. There is also green in there. Bright neon green. Tank is 8 months old.

Morning update He seems fine since yesterday morning. I've watched him since and haven't seen any more scratching or biting. I had a freshwater dip ready last night and couldn't catch him. Any easy tricks to that with out dismantling dt tank?

There are no white spots at the moment. May try fresh water dip and see what happens. Now to see how to accurately do a fresh water dip.

Thanks for the replies. I actually picked one up yesterday and added him to my QT for a couple of weeks. He is not the prettiest color now but have read that is normal and to be expected.

I'm thinking of adding A Midas blenny to my 29 gallon. I have a clown and six line already. Would he be okay? I would also like to add a royal gramma possibly? Too much?
