The ammonia isn't showing high though is it. So surely it's not that bad. I'm going to do a 20% at least 2moro dinner time.

I did a pwc yesterday going to do another tomorrow. Fish are all swimming around looking healthy. Do you think it's showing nitrates?

Well I've lost 2 fish since I started cycling. I understand why the ammo and nitrites went up I just not understand why the nitrites have suddenly dropped from 1ppm to 0ppm.

Ye that's what I thought yesterday when nitrites was showing up but now it's reading 0 nitrites. So is it still cycling? Is it normal to fluctuate like that?

Hi I checked my water last night it was ph 7.2 ammo 0.25 nitrites 1ppm nitrates 0. I checked my water today and it is ph 7.2 ammo 1ppm nitrites 0? So I did a pwc to reduce the ammo and its gone back down to 0.25. Is it normal for nitrites to appear then disappear?

I'm doing a fish in cycle. I put 6 neon tetras in last Tuesday morning. When I tested water last night it was ph 7.2 ammo 0.25 nitrites 0 nitrates 0. I have just tested tonight and it is ph 7.2 ammo 0.25 nitrites 1ppm nitrates 0. Does this sound right?

It was 0.25 even with no fish in. It's not changed at all.

Found it. Well the remains of it. Poor thing it's skeleton was floating around before one of the fish was nibbling at the remains.

I also thought this about neons but a friend who is very knowledgable recommended neon as the tend to do very good in the water where I live.

I've lost a fish! I just fed my neon tetras and just counted them and there's one missing. I had 6 put them in last tues to cycle my tank. Been testing daily all ok. But one of the neons as disappeared. There's no sign of it anywhere. Any ideas? X
