my understanding is you need a constant source of amonia until you get a complete cycle so you even may need to add another shrimp until you get a complete cycle. Then remove it.

Lol are those your videos ? - I had to laugh when I heard "Big Bang Theory" playing on the TV in the background. This is one of my aquascapes designs and as you can see its stacked high. I am thinking that I may need to drill holes for some for connector rods with putty for stabilty.

Water flow and leak test starting this weekend. Then I will Aquascape my base rock next week. If all goes well I could be ready to start the cycle by the following weekend. I will need to get a piece of live rock to seed my rock from the lFS. Not sure what kind to get ....Fijii ??

I want to build a wall as well but I am worried putty won't hold it up. Any other suggestions ?

Some people put the shrimp in a sock so you don't have bits of rotting shrimp floating around to deal with :) Post some pics.

I will do that. Think it will look better and will also give me a little more pressure on my Durso pipe which is a good thing I hope.

No glass top - I am going to live dangeriously to start :) LEDs will be secure hanging from ceiling so I am not concerned it will fall in. And Nemo better get a parachute. I just like the look of an open top tank and from what I have read a lot of people do this. I can always add one later...

Mine is under my kitchen sink. You can also use it for your own personal drinking / cooking water. Believe.me you won't go back to tap water again.

Personally I don't think it's worth the effort and maintenance to deal with non RO water. It's just going to make it so much harder to have a great tank.

Yes i agree getting good Lights are key. I think I have settled on the Maxspect R420R Razor. Now I just need to find the best price or 10% off coupon would work :) And yes I need more and stronger power heads in a few weeks. Still waiting for some plumbing parts. Been in the post for 7 days...
