    Any advice on LED's?

Yeah I believe Brian nailed it on the head. The satellite+ is a great light for the price. Allot of fun and I found it for$89. Fish seem to love it as I can dum the lights on and off with the sunrise/sunset and other features, not as much of a shock when the lights come on. Still reserving...

    Any advice on LED's?

Awesome! Most of what I have in the tank are low light already. My concern was with the color spectrum. I have been using the full spectrum so far but wasn't sure how well it was set. Nice to hear from two people that already have the same fixture Where could i get the add on lights? Do you...

does anyone know how to set up lunar lights?

Prob with a remote dimmer and a timer. The Web site says 1 per 24 inches, but it seems awful small. Of course, i understand you're not trying to completely light up the tank, but at the same time it doesn't seem like a whole lit

does anyone know how to set up lunar lights?

I want to create a "true" lunar light set up in my tank. I'm looking to s closely simulate the lunar light spectrum as possible. I have a 55gal 48"x12"x12" tank. I have foods some lights I'm interested in, but I'm not real sure which spectrum and how many I need. The light specs I'm looking at...

Awesome, i want sure how much i could trim the lilies without hurting them. I try to leave the stems just because the angel and rainbow shark love swimming through them. How tall does the micro sword grow?

Please do! That's the way I have been leaning towards. I'm really trying to find the shortest and best spreading cover I can as my tank is viewable from both sides.

Thank you! Still filling in. I'm thinking of starting a"grass" bed. I still haven't decided on a good cover yet, and I'm open to suggestions.

I just wanted to thank everyone who chimed in last week to help me out with advice on my tank especially -rivercats. A little update, i now have the nitrates in the tank under control (10ppm). And the fish and the plants both couldn't seem happier. Unfortunately I lost am angelfish in the...

Thank you! Sounds like I've got quite a bit of work to do! Lol. I'll update when I get all of my corrections made. Kind of funny, doesn't matter how much you read, there's always something more to learn. I love it that i can get real world experience from people that have been there. THANK YOU!!

Awesome, that's what i was wondering. Just wasn't sure if the conditioners worked as well as they say they do. Hard to believe they can remove the chlorine that quickly!

k, thank you! I appreciate the help. This is exactly why I started this thread. I obviously have a lot more to learn. Do you trust the chemicals that say they"immediately"remove chlorine? I really don't see any other way to do this large of water changes without harming the fish. Any suggestions?

Ok, i appreciate it. I'm testing closer to 40ppm now (hard to tell exactly, color chart jumps from 40 to 80) i will start back on the water changes. Obviously, i don't have any water prepped right now since I didn't plan on another change today. I have Seachem Prime that says it"immediately"...

Oh...everything I read previously said hard shifts in nitrates in either direction could cause nitrate poisoning. I just did a change this morning. I will do another after testing where the levels are now. Tested before water change but haven't tested since. I could be mistaken, but everything...
