I have some sort of weird algae growing basically only on the glass. It appears to be really stringy and will come back within a day of scraping it with a mag float. Thanks for the help.

You can usually just ask your LFS if you can have some of theirs. They will usually give them to you for free. That's what I do.

Get the purigen that already comes in a bag. I believe it's the 100 ml. I just put mine in front of the filter cartridge.
