I see cyanobacteria in every one of those photos. You are going to have to go to the store (Wal-Mart) and buy RO/DI water. It is the water labeled Distilled or Purified. Each time you put city water into your tank you add in nutrients that are causing the cyano to bloom. Nothing will change...

You might also have a rock crab that is picking on him. Mine is in the same boat. Eventually the legs will grow back.

I just wanted to let you guys know that I am going to the GA aquarium this weekend. If anyone has been there, can you take camaras? I am anxious to take photos, but I dont want to take my expensive digital camara into Atlanta if I can't take it with me. TIA

I have had oysters in my tank. Like TCTFish said, they are short lived. Mine actually came out of the Gulf of Mexico, on accident mind you. I have never seen them for sale though.

Most people will notice they have not changed their lights in a long time when they start to grow cyanobacteria. The spectrum changes can cause major issues with algae growth in a saltwater tank. Most major tank keepers will recommend changing lights every six to eight months.

Thats sick, I have never seen a fish do this before. I always thought that if you over fed your fish they would eat until they died... guess its not true for saltwater fish. Thanks!

I'm not feeding him, he is eating the macro algae all over the tank. He is doing some major damage too. Not that I mind, it is why I got him.

I got a yellow tang (named him Amarillo) last Sunday. He is very happy and is eating very well... which leads to my question. Can a tang over eat and kill itself? Will it pop!?!?! Seriously, he looks like he is going to explode and yet he keeps chowing down.
