Soo I woke up this morning to see a wonderful bacterial bloom in my fluval and so luckily I had some salt water already mixed so I hurried and did a water change.... Looked all good and clear after that yayy.... Then one hour later boom looks like butt again cloudy as all gets out so one hour...

Has anyone seen this before. I was feeding my nem and out of no were a bristle worm snatched the peace of shrimp right from its mouth!

I have a uv hooked to my 55 and ever sense I have never had a problem with ich. Yes it doesn't kill them if there on the fish or in the sand but when they are free floating it will eradicate them taking out one part if there cycle slowly killing them off... Lets not also add crystal clear water

Thinking about buying this sunsun canister filter and uv. Have one of there larger models on my 55 gal and works great. Sun sun is the same brand as aquatop but its Japanese model. So it's not a knock off.

Very true! I have friends whose bta never bubbled up but has had for a year. Mine seems to know the light schedule such as in the morning before lights come on it will bubble but then later in the day like a half hour before the turn off it starts to thin out.

Two clowns host mine and mine doesn't seem to move around too much it's found a spot it likes in high light with low alternating currents.

Does anyone know of a good submersible uv that will fit in a fluval edge?

They can kill corals if left in contact to long.

I top off once a day when I wake up for school like half a bottle of water (if that) and the evaporation rate is really low because the opening on the top is small like 6X4 or some where in that vicinity.

I'm starting this thread to log my fluval as it progresses. It's already a month in with some live stock but no corals yet. Comments and suggestions are always welcome! Second day set up after the sand settled down a bit. Lighting consist of two mr11 cool white 9 watt LEDs and 18" finnex ray...

Here is a fun little saying to go by... A reef tank is like a sports car. The faster you go the harder you will crash.

I have to agree they will host anywhere! A few of my friends have had the clowns host anything from power heads to a whole in a rock to even Guarding a corner of the tank with all there life. I'm lucky though my clowns host my bta last night and won't stray from it.

I'm running the ray two on my fluval looks great and colors pop. And in my ten gallon I'd believe I ran for circulation a aquaion 500 it will give a pretty strong wide flow for a ten gallon!

Thanks convict at first I wasn't sure if the were hosting or if the anemone somehow got a hold of them cause the clowns are little under an inch. But then the just started going all nuts in there. But thanks again!

Thanks your tank looks nice from your album! The clowns were a steal I got them for 60 a pop online from reefs2go and thought there had to be a catch but the colorations were exactly as expected along with the gbta that they had on sale for 20. And this was my first online order:)

I just got home from work and let me add I only have had these two snow onyx clowns and anemone for three days. But any who I just got home from work and the first thing I see when I get into my room. Are my clown playing all over the anemone!! I thought it was going to take months
