    Aiptasia help

I agree with the hot water method. Make sure the water is almost at a boil, then retract it into a needle, an inject it directly into the mouth. It should shrivel up and fall off the rock within second. If you have a peppermint shrimp in the tank, he will be quick to grab it. Steve

Best way to add more sand

I have done it with a ziplock bag as well. Pour some sand into the ziplock bag, close the bag, bring it down to the bottom of the tank, and slowly open and release. Its as easy as that! Steve

Having trouble getting my water to clear.

IMO a filter is not needed in a SW setup, but since you dont have any LR to filter your water i would keep it there for now. Most importantly i would work on getting some Live Rock. It looks as though jlaquatics is around $140 shipping on a 65 lb box. Is there no LFS around you? Make sure to...

Having trouble getting my water to clear.

Check out this store here in canada: www.jlaquatics.com Now try and find a group of people in your area who would do a group by for some livestock/liverock. Then the price of shipping is not only on your shoulder but gets split between others. You can skip on the cannister filter and get...

    coralife ro/di unit

You do not need to dose with any products other then regular water changes. The salt should contain all essential elements and osmoprep is another chemical that the LFS uses to make money. Nothing against your LFS though cause mine tried to do the same to me  i have crabs......... You...

    GSPs in Marine tanks?

I imagine he means Green Spotted Puffer. They do live in FW when they are young then migrate in more salt concentrated areas. I have seen them in full blown SW set ups before with no problems. Steve

    Aquarium Backgrounds?

Thanks! Ya i was thinking the same but i found tape to look rather rough. I was hoping to find something that could be sprayed to the back of the aquarium. Most likely it would not be removed, and if it had to, i would just go buy a new tank. Steve

    Aquarium Backgrounds?

So i have had my 75 gallon in place for well over a year now. From the back of the aquarium it is about 6 inches to the wall. I am wondering what is the best method of putting on an background? I am just looking at a blue or black background but is there a clear drying glue that can be used so...

    Harlequin Tusk price

The tusk you found on that site was most likely caught using cyanide in the Philippines. Maybe you should email them and find out? In all my research i have found that these very same (non cyanide caught) fish from Australia, are the ones you see for $60.00 to $100.00. It is a cruel practice...

    Pearly Jawfish

Thanks guys for the help! I already have glass lids on the tank since it is FOWLR. Any other specific recommendations? I know they like to build there burrow with a couple of different sized sands and pieces of rocks. How deep of a sand bed did you have? Thanks again Steve
