Might be a dumb question..but does anyone know why most elephant ear bettas have that same purple/butterfly coloring? I've seen one green and a white but the vast majority are purple. Why is that?

The cockatoos are adorable! Are diamond tetras as pretty as they look in the pictures? I've been thinking about them. Also would those be the only two species I could put in the tank or could I do them with an angelfish and kuhli loaches?

It's apparently not a necessary feature in ponds. When I search about filtration the conclusion that everyone seems to come to is "it can't hurt". My dad said his filter did more harm then good so I figure as long as I can cycle it and keep it understocked I should be ok.
