Morning all,i have a juwel bioflow filter and was just wondering if I could wash the coarse blue sponges that are used for growing the bacteriea. They dont seem to have any properties like the nitrate sponge and the carbon sponges so cant see any harm in washing them when the time comes...

Thing that gets me though is what should I be feeding at what age?! Theres no rule of thumb about it that I can see and everyone I now says different things and google is about as much help as a chocolate fire guard trying to find tge right answer with 2000000 people saying they all no best.

How about brine shrimp,been looking at OCEAN NUTRITION stuff thats live but not cheap. Would they be better on that while I get them on normal?

Morning all! How long would a female fantail spawn for? Is it a life term thing? That sounda more stupid than I thought!! Just wondering cos they r at it every 2 weeks now and if anything she seems to be loosing her condition with all the chasing thats going. Is splitting them my only option...

Sorry guys its wondered off,ill try if it turns up again. Flat,oval shaped,looked like hardening around its edge but not shell shaped like a snail. Ill put it down to aliens if it doent return!!

Afternoon peeps,i know irs daft but can anyone explain what a very small young clam looks like as I think ones turned up in my tank.its only 3mm long but oval in shape and flat and it doesnt look like any snail ive seen before. Cheers

Still alive,although only 3 survived from original batch that are now just short of 2 month old and somewhere between the plants I know have 14 fry at about 5 week old.

Stupid question but is there anyway of getting the female to stop spawning? Shes at it again,hundreds off them all stuck to the plants. Also does spawning take it out on the female? Just noticed shes looking a bit tired and not in condition she was. any helps good help
