Thanks Rivercats, I think it was Flourish, reddish in color.my main concern is cleaning, will it just all get sucked up in the vacuum?

Just bought a new 10 gallon tank, my Fluval Edge was just too impossible to clean. Anyway, I'm thinking about using sand on top of my substrate. Any recommendations, or problems anyone can think of? How do you clean it? Won't it get sucked into the vacuum?

How do you get cuttlebone to sink? Mine keeps floating to the top. Thanks!

I am having a very similar prob with my RCS. Purchased 15 a week ago and have 4 left. My nitrates are a little high, but not too bad. Maybe it is a molting problem? Where can I get the cuttlefish bone? I'd like to try to save my remaining shrimp!

I also have a Fluval Edge and had a ton of snails that came in on my plants. I got one assassin snail and within 2 weeks they were all gone. It was kind of creepy to see the empty shells lying around , but satisfying at the same time :)

My assassin snail has eaten all of the snails in my aquarium. What will he eat now? Is there something I can feed him to keep him away from my RCS?

I don't use any CO2. Is that my prob? Where can I get this selection of plants online? My local store does not seem to have them.

I have a new fluval edge w led. I have 3 java ferns which look ok. I am always removing yellowed/brown leaves from them. I need a tallish plant for the back and was hoping for a diff look from java fern.

I realize it is prob frowned upon, but my 6 gallon fluval edge does not seem to have great lighting for live plants. The back corner especially is lacking in light so no plants really will thrive there. I am thinking about getting an artificial plant to put in this 1 corner. Can I just get one...

Got 5 RCS 2 weeks ago. Within 5 days all of them, had disappeared. I figured either my rummy nose tetras or assassin snail had eaten them, but had not seem any carnage. Then today 3 reappeared and are swimming all over the tank. I looked everywhere for them before and cannot imagine where they...
