    Oh come on, seriously?

Man sorry about that. I too am attached to my cleaner and it would piss me off if another fish or anemone ate it. That's why I am trying to have only peaceful inhabitants in my tank but ya just never know.

    Evans 40 Gallon Reef

I think Texas holey rock sometimes causes problems in reef tanks. I remember reading it on wwm a while back. Something about the limestone dropping or raising ph I don't remember. And something about phosphates u may want to look into that before u start it up.

    Rene's new 55 gal aquarium

Thanks appreciate it! It is definitely a work in progress. Hopefully in the next week or 2 I can add some rock and sand. Had just become content with my biocube when I got asked to trade straight up biocube for everything u see in the pic. I'm happy with it so far.

    Aquascape

I agree with you. I have a 55 now and was thinking about getting a baby tang as well. But I have seen people complain about it even in a 55 and say it needs a 125 gal min. Was just trying to give u a heads up is all.

    Aquascape

I like it as well as u can see I had some thing similar when I had my biocube. One thing though get ready for the tang nazis cause they're gonna come after u with that regal tang in ur tank.

    I am over Tanked

Wayde says, “We make sure any of the fish that we’re going to get are eating and are in good shape and condition. Reality TV is reality TV; most of the time everything looks like it’s done overnight. We don’t want people to think that it’s being done overnight—people need to understand that all...

    No more Gobies!

This tank is a lil over a month old. Did a transfer of all my stuff from my other tank to this one. Nitrite and ammonia 0, nitrate under .20. All parameters are good. Never had a mini cycle from the transfer.

    Rene's new 55 gal aquarium

Thanks appreciate it. Had some leftover wood and bought a 3$ can of paint and made a canopy for under 15 dollars.

    No more Gobies!

Well I against my better judgement got another Goby this weekend. I had a yellow clown one a month ago and he just wouldn't eat despite me trying everything I could. Well he passed so I thought I would give a green clown a shot. Put him sat and didn't see him till today. He came out thrashing...

    background

I'm sorry I didn't realize the tank was filled already. For when u do need to adhere something in ur tank they sell a aquarium silicone that is perfectly safe. But since u already have water in there I would suggest u use super glue that is Cyanoacrylate based. It is safe to use with fish and...

    background

Try some aquarium silicone that might work. That way if u ever want to take it off u can just peel it off.

    Rene's new 55 gal aquarium

Made a canopy and let my girls paint it. Gotta admit it didn't come out half bad. Also got some chromis, a green clown coby and a emerald crab Next week I will get more sand and maybe some liverock.

    Refugium in filters media basket

Yeah I tried asking the same thing on here but didn't get any responses as far as using hob filter for a refugium. I've done some research on it and I think the aquaclear filters are the way to go. They sell a mod for the filters on the Intank website but its a lil pricey and I'm more of DIY...

    Frag tank build

That rio nano skimmer the other person mentioned looks pretty cool. If that's not a option I think aquaclear filters are the best hob filters due to the options u have with them. As for feeding the cleaner shrimp mine is pig and comes running when the food hits the tank. Try some sinking pellets.

    new fish??

I get what you're saying and totally agree about one tank leading to a bigger one and so on. And even about the tangs even though I believe the op is not a beginner since he's had his tank running for 2 yrs. I would really like a tang in my 55 but don't want to have to worry about it cause I...

    new fish??

I totally agree with you. I think if you want a smaller tang for a lil while and then switch it out when it gets bigger which takes some time is totally ok. I was just commenting on the fact that it didn't take not even a page on ur post before someone said something about it. And on another...

    new fish??

I am not trying to start anything here. But I find it funny how this guy who has done some homework and has the foresight to ask about the tangs gets lectured. But in another post a member who has a tank similar in size and happens to be a pretty girl post her tank on here and has like 3 tangs...

    Kevin's 36 gallon tank

Are you having any problems with the firefish and 6 line yet? I had that pair in my biocube and everything was cool for 7 months then it seemed like overnight the 6 line decided to terrorize the firefish. Now that I have a 55 I am contemplating getting one again thinking more room will help but...

    Our 45g tank

I took the pieces that I was going to break up and kept them in 5 gal bucket with water. Then I would take it out break it up and put it back in the bucket. The rock is not as hard as you think and breaks up pretty easily. The rock didn't suffer any die off or anything like that. I know some...

    Our 45g tank

Why don't you get a chisel and hammer and go to town on a couple of the big pieces to make smaller pieces. I don't have much rock yet but one the pieces I had was just a huge block so I broke it up.

    Rene's new 55 gal aquarium

That's the way it starts. I started with a 40 gallon freshwater tank. Then the got the biocube cause I didn't want to go too big just in case I couldn't handle it. Now the 55 which I am saying this is it don't want to go any bigger. But I'm sure in another yr I'm gonna be saying well maybe a 90...

    Rene's new 55 gal aquarium

Took some more photos last night with all the lights off except my two stunners. I haven't had the the chance to add anything. Well not counting the background. Amazing how it gives such a cleaner look.

    Rene's new 55 gal aquarium

I hear ya same here. It was so crazy and hectic last week but I couldn't pass it up. I've never have had a tank this big at home so I'm getting use to it. My boss set up a 200 gallon tank at work a yr ago that I pretty much have to take care of but that's freshwater so its a whole lot easier.

    Rene's new 55 gal aquarium

Thanks guys! Yeah I'm kinda of perfectionist so its driving me crazy looking at the tank right now. Just want it to be what I envision it already but gotta wait for some money. This hobby addiction cost more than most illegal addictions ;) Lol
