I did 2 wcs this week a 50% on Sunday and a 100% on tuesday to try to lower Nitrites and bring ph up. Nitrites lowered and ph went up. I started doing 2ppm ammonia every few days. Nitrites are way high again and ph dropped a bit. I also added a little bit of food. Today I started seeing...
yesterday ammonia was down to .25. and nitrites were between 2 and 5. I brought ammonia back up to 4. Today ammonia was at .5(brought it back to 4) nitrites were at 5, and nitrates were higher than 0 but less than 5.
Thanks for all the tips. The water level was already about that low and I have bubbles working the other end of the tank. Temp was at 80. Turned it up this morning. Now at 84
When comparing the water to the chart should you hold the tube right up to the card or a little in front of it? Not sure if ammonia is reading 4 or 8ppm.
I did wait before plugging it in. I returned it and they gave me marina 100w. It works good. Has a little trouble getting the temp up. I think that's because of the cold weather we are starting to get. I'm thinking about getting a 200w for the winter
I just got the aqueon 29gallon deluxe kit. On the heater that came with it(all glass AGA100) the light comes on for a few seconds and then turns off for a few seconds. The only time it stays on longer is when I have it turned all the way up. Is this normal? I left it running in the middle...
I'm going to be starting a 29gallon freshwater tropical tank. Should I buy a starter kit or purchase everything seperatly. Also if I go with a kit(and even if i dont) would you reccomend Aqueon or Marineland?
