    Ich or not

Well since we can't adhere to any supplied visual references it's nearly impossible to accurately say or inaccurately guess what it is. Heck, it could be dandruff. Is he flashing (scratching) against the live rock? Frank

    Clownfish died from ick?

If it killed that quick, I personally don't think it was Ick. The two quick killers that are commonly confused with Ick are Brooklynella and Marine Velvet. If there's no other livestock in the tank, I'd let it run fallow for about 6 weeks. Good luck! Frank

    something wrong with my hippo?!?!?

hmm. You have to be very cautious. Not sure which copper treatment you have but I'd pull him, put him in QT and begin treatment with SeaChems Cupramine, cupramine is wide range and effectively eradicates Oodinium, Cryptocaryon, Amyloodinium, Ichthyophthirius, and other Ectoparasites. Or...

    something wrong with my hippo?!?!?

Are there any other fish in the tank that are showing signs of being sick?

    something wrong with my hippo?!?!?

I'd pull him and get him into QT ASAP. If it is Brooklynella copper is of no use to treat, and like I said is a very fast killer, usually within 24-48hrs of showing symptoms the fish succumbs to the brook. Which resembles white stringy like slime on body of fish.

    something wrong with my hippo?!?!?

The dark spots could be flatworms or other type of worms. Was he quarantined before being put into the display tank. How long has he been in the main tank? Are any other fish in tank showing abnormal signs?

    something wrong with my hippo?!?!?

Do you have a QT tank on hand? Also do you have any medication on hand? Para guard, quick cure, etc?

Are those splotches white/gray in color? or are they dark in color like the pics? Frank

    Are these effects from lighting/camera?

    something wrong with my hippo?!?!?

Ok, from those pictures it does look like ich and from the look of him, he's on the small size, about the size of a quarter or so? At that size hippos are notorious for having very weak immune systems. As they mature they do build up their immune system put are ich chances are still high...

    something wrong with my hippo?!?!?

My first thought would be Brooklynella or Marine Velvet, but looks more like Brook to me. If that's what it is, it moves fast and kills quick! Only way to treat is with Formalin. If you don't have access to Formalin you can also use Quick Cure. Naturally, this has to be done in either a QT...

    something wrong with my hippo?!?!?

Greetings! From those pictures, it doesn't look like Ich because there's not so much salt like grains that I notice, but what I see is white patches/slime, I am correct in seeing this or is it just the picture? If that's the case it's far more worse than ich and can lead to a complete tank...

    PH buffer

When did you test the ph? It's always best to test right after the lights go out. Raising the alkalinity should raise the pH to a safe level. If not, we can work from there. The cause of low pH is always carbon dioxide in running systems, so fresher air/more aeration should help. It's also...

    Hole in my angel fish!

Was this fish quarantined before being put into the DT? I was thinking HLLE as well.. Definitely have to monitor it as much as possible. Frank

    Internal parasites?

Generally, white feces is caused' from worms, parasites or stress. So yes, it very well could be stress. I personally don't think it's bacterial. What kind of medicated food are you trying? If you have access to it you may want to try the Dr. Gs medicated food or the caviar. I've used it...

    Internal parasites?

White stringy poop is associated with Internal Parasites but also many fish, especially if it is wild caught carry worms, which can cause the white stringy poop. PraziPro should be fine to deworm them. You may want to consider a medicated food and treat for Parasites. Best regards, Frank

    What the heck?? Hammer disappered

I've seen that happen over time, can't say I've ever seen or heard of it happening in 24hrs.. Was the size of the head equivalent to the size of the good head? Frank

    Chemi-Pure Question

Before I picked up a phos reactor I'd replace it once a month. Since using the chemi-pure in a phos reactor I was replacing it every 2 weeks.. By the 2nd week there's little to no movement in the phos reactor which to me means it's time to change the media? although i could be wrong on that...

    Is This Ich?

From the pic, I can't see anything.. I would observe over the next 24-48hrs and see if anymore show. It could very well be sand/liverock.. Frank

    I need help now

If you have a QT you can move her there, provided the salinity is within range of the DT salinity level, no drastic change in salinity is imperative. Also, the stress of trying to fish her out and move her to a QT may do more harm than good. Frank

    I need help now

P.S- an ATO is probably one of the most valued, under mentioned tools in keeping a saltwater aquarium. The ATO is probably the most important piece of equipment I purchased in this "hobby".. Salinity levels go up through evaporation, the water evaps, the salt stays, An ATO will prevent that by...

    I need help now

Short term it's not a major concern. It's off by less than 10%. Just bring it down slowly, over the period of a week will probably do. Just remove a bit of the water each day and replace with RO/DI. 9 days of replacing 1% of the water volume will drop it to normal 35 ppt levels (sg = 1.0264)...

    Frogspawn

There will be an adjustment period for the one good head, as long as your water conditions are kept up you should notice the good head adapting withing 48-72hrs. Best case scenario, the other head makes a recovery, although I wouldn't get my hopes up from that recent picture. Good luck! Frank

    Anemone

It's hard to tell from the pic. How long has it been like that? Anemone's shrivel up like that when they expunge or if they're not happy because of either placement or water conditions (stressed). Once those are rectified the anemones return to normal. Some signs that your Anemone is dying...
