    Aquarium on 2nd Story Floor

I would suggest a couple 110's, IMO best HOB filters. Good luck and keep us updated!

    Aquarium on 2nd Story Floor

You really need a filter or filters. A skimmer is good and so is liverock but your only using half the liverock you could ( and if on 2nd story in residential house I would to) also a new tank, would definitely acquire a few HOB filters. You could go canister/HOB, as well, mix and match or...

    Aquarium on 2nd Story Floor

If your gonna go HOB route I would use atleast a pair of 110's. Your liverock will help out as well but water changes, skimmer, and filtration will eliminate bad prams as well as a good clean up crew.

    Aquarium on 2nd Story Floor

What are you using for a filter?

    Aquarium on 2nd Story Floor

I would stay with what you have, that's a lot of weight in a small footprint. If you go bigger, go longer so you catch more joist not taller or wider

    Aquarium on 2nd Story Floor

I would stick with the 55. And try to distribute it horizontal to floor joist and not parallel. Unfortunately (most) newer houses use weaker joist than older ones to save money. I-joist are NOT suitable for a 150g unless you can get pops to reinforce floor- (good luck with that) :)

    How often...

Good point, to add to that I might suggest tying a fork to the end of the siphon. You can stir while you vac. That has helped me out alot with sand I've had in the past.

    How often...

Hi, I do lift wood up every other time I clean. Hence (other), I clean biweekly so once a month I move rocks,wood,etc.. And do a thorough cleaning. You would be surprised at the buildup underneath, plus in the big tank I have an Oscar (Melvin) that enjoys biting me while cleaning :)

Bio cube 14 anyone have experience/knowledge about it

TEST KIT!! :) and once you get that stuff you'll realize you'll need half a dozen other things like salt, RODI water, misc. buckets, powerhead(s) a spare heater for mixing etc..lol

Bio cube 14 anyone have experience/knowledge about it

I would spend the extra and get a 29g , you have alot more options for livestock and if buying new, there's really not that much difference in price considering your doubling your capacity.

    29 gal tank

That's a tough one. I have seen canopies for sale on eBay as well but not too often. May consider HDI upgrade? Or just get a T5 or an led lightbar perhaps?

    Feeding Fish While On Vacation

I left town for 10 days and posted the same question. You can leave a fraction of one of those shell shaped feeding (things?) in each tank and be good. A fish can survive alot longer than 5 days w/o eating. Tho, if you know a trustworthy person I would recommend that. Don't get me wrong after 5...

    29 gal tank

Nice, I'm not sure what that is (looks like a Coralife?) but I know you can pick up ballasts for oceanics on eBay for $50 all day. Does it use two separate? Anyways nice steal :)

    10 gal overstocked? Suggestions?

Cardinals are a light load. Gotta watch prams tho. I'd buy a lil 5g for the betta and call it good

    10 gal overstocked? Suggestions?

Are you speaking of the (neon colored tetras) or the cardinals with the blue and red markings?

    Poor oscar

Agreed.. I doubt it. Donate to LFS and sell tank separately. ( as the two don't mesh well)

    Betta Owner turned Aquarist

Lemon, red eye, cardinal tetra, and many more are great with Betas. Zebras and Giant danios as well. Your Beta will still rule the tank

    10 gal overstocked? Suggestions?

It's definitely maxed out, if your doing enough changes to keep levels safe you could probably keep it going as is. I personally would lose a loach and a couple tetra. Your prams could get out really quick if your not on it.

    More Questions

You can have 80% base or even 100%. It will all eventually become live.

    What happened??

No, it was very strange when I seen him not darting across the tank during feeding? A couple months ago he had a cloudy eye but shook it and was doing fine? Just laying at the bottom then a few hrs later.. Not breathing.

    What happened??

    0ppm and every 2 wks
  22. bmckee727

    What happened??

Again, my prams are fine, I'm not going to type them out when I know what the required is for the species. Tank mates- giant danios/ pleco/ and few tetras who were never harassed by 1 lemon and 4 red eyes.

    What happened??

    Brad M, I like that!
  24. bmckee727

    What happened??

Fed daily with flakes and/or algae tabs, bloodworms or shrimp. On occasion blanched cucumbers or peas. I kept with prams set for species. Not sure if I should add a new one or a crazy Oscar or add a few more giant danios or a lotta tetras..I LOVE TETRAS!!
