    Is carbon safe in a planted tank?

    I keep hearing mixed things about carbon and planted tanks some say it's bad it takes out your ferts and such and some say they have been running it for years with no problem.

    You can buy the tabs online. They sell them at petco/petsmart the best thing I have used is flourish excel by seachem it's a liquid c02 and you will see a difference in a week or less

    I have bought straight fluorite in the past and it's a dirty mess I don't care how many times you wash it it leaves dust clouds in your tank until it settles on the bottom and your fish stir it back up

    Sorry I forgot to add I use liquid ferts monthly because the eco complete has it in it already and I don't want to over do it some people say the ferts don't last long in it but it's a porous gravel meant to hold and lock them in...best of luck

    I just bought a new 75 gallon aquarium and the top rim is kinda loose on one side is that bad? It's not cracked or damaged just a little loose but I heard it keeps the tank from bowing.. It's the peice my hands on I don't want to drive 2 hours to exchange it thanks for the help
