    purple is the color~!

I havent done a thing and my coraline grows great. I've had the tank for about 6 mos now and there is coraline everywhere. I do water changes about once a month and have regular old flourescent lighting. The only chemical I add is Kents essential elements but I dunno if that does anything or...

    purple is the color~!

its coraline algae. If you introduce something with the algae on it like live rock, it just spreads by itself.

the keys has more coraline but I really like the gulf. It came with way more visible life than the keys.

    Starter fish...

yeah. skip the damsels. I had two. The bigger of the two picked on the smaller and stressed it to death. Then I added clowns and he picked on them too. After trying to catch him many times I eventually had to remove most of my rock and chase the damsel around the tank for 30 mins to get him...

    hirocks.com good or bad ?

they are good but you must wash the rock thoroughly to avoid a dust storm. You will need live rock (liverocks.com) to seed that dead rock if you want bio filtration.

    Lr arrival!

pic #4 is a cup coral i believe. pic #5 is a tunicate. I ordered 25lbs gulf and 25lbs keys about a month ago. I got a large brittle in my order too but he didn't survive long. I bought some "stop aptasia" and that got rid of most of them. Check for gorilla crabs though. I killed two already...

Liverocks.com - Keys, Gulf, or Base Live Rock?

I bought 30 lbs gulf and 20lbs keys. I'd recommend that you use some dead base rock from hirocks.com or reeferrocks because alot of the rock is just going to sink into the sand and won't be seen. I like the coraline on the keys but the gulf rock is way more interesting. I got corals...

    Parasite

it fell off when I dropped the clown in the QT. I couldn't find it in the QT when I came home from work but I dropped copper in there so I'm assuming it'll die anyway. But I'm betting that where there is one there are many so what do I have to do get them out of my display tank?

    Parasite

When it rains it pours. As I was taking my clown out to put into QT for ich I noticed it had a black parasite on it. I would've taken a picture but my camera is being loaned out. It looked like a tick kind of and it crawled then hopped like a frog along the tank floor. Any ideas?

It was a fun three days... <sigh>

I'm dealing with the same thing in my tank. You'll need a tank and a sponge filter. Take some biomedia out of your tank so there is no cycle in the QT. Then buy some copper. i'll be doing this tonight as well. I've learned my lesson. QT every fish before putting it in the main tank!
