    Frogs anyone?

None know anything about leopard frogs? Have one that was caught in my koi pond net and I think he dislocated his knees. Either one or both.

    Undergravel filters

What is your opinion on them? I have one, but is not my main nor my secondary source of filtration. Using it more for water circulation and aeration. I have it in my 55 gal fresh water and was thinking about adding one to my 55 gal brackish.

    Pond winterization

I built a pond in the spring, 1250gals give or take a 100, has skimmer and bio waterfall all. It also has koi, some plants, and some snails and a frog or two have moved in. To winterized it I use microbe-Lift fall and winter, scooped out as much junk as I could, strung up a net to catch any more...

    F8 Puffer and Columbian Catfish

My cats are doing great, and getting fat! So happy with my puffer. Seems to be real happy. Doesn't mind sharing the tank with the 2 cats, 3 chromides and a few mollies. In a 55 gal brackish tank.

    Aquarium salt and snails

Can you use regular aquarium salt (not for marine) with snails? I read somewhere it was harmful to them.

Live plants with a goby dragon..

Does anyone have any luck keeping live plants with a VGD? Mine is the ultimate in terraforming his tank. Like every few days. I had 2 water sprites in there... I am going to have go digging to find them. Any recommendations??

    Filter trials

I got a new "old" tank setup off craigslist. It's a 55 gal. Turned into a brackish tank with sand bottom. Cycled, moved in fish, everything is going great. Till the motor starts screeching!!! Turn it off, empty it out, clean it, the mags feel a little abrasive/wrapped. Ordered a new motor put in...

    Home built pond

So I've posted pics of the pond before landscaping and after getting it done, but none of the initial work. So, here are some pics. I look back at it now and think, "good golly I did that?!?!" :) Initial hole dug by me and my John deer tractor The boards were laid out to help visualize...

    Pond is coming along!!!

Taking awhile, but the koi are moved out of the 55gal and in their new 1100gal pond. I think they're lost!!! Lol. Plants come tomorrow, landscaping goes slowly between work and the pocket book. Angels are happy to be out of the 10 gal and in the 55!!

What do use for the bottom of your pond?

Has anyone here built their own pond? Do you know if I should put anything in as a base? Gravel, sand, nothing? My first pond I put up last year was only about 40-50 gals. I put gravel in it. Now I am building a 1400gal pond (lucky koi) and wondering if I should still put gravel or something...

    Using sand instead of gravel

So in two of my tanks I have gravel. When researching a tank to make for my violet goby dragon I learned they need sand and one can use play sand purchased at Walmart or the like. Well my tank is up and running, 27 gal cube, brackish, with a little substrate thrown on the bottom for eventual...
