I have sand in my tank and had a piece of driftwood there. My loaches dug their own cave under the driftwood which I thought was pretty cool. The upsidedown cats share it. And when I had crabs they evicted the loaches and moved in haha :)

thanks tankgirl- I think the whitespot has gone as there has been no sign of it for 4 weeks. the person in the shop said that each cycle in tropical tank lasts 8 days so ill be ok. ill go mad at him if it comes back within the next month. ill get some bloodworms for my little polka dotted...

and have you thought that it dosent thrash because its verry cold? you loose energy quickly when your cold!

thats probably the most painfulless suggestion so far. I know i would hate to die by being frozen! or if you dont want to chop your fish in two you could bask it against something- instant death with body a bit damaged- i know id rather have a bit of a damaged body than be frozen to death over...

get aquarium sand- its easier!! lol and more expensive. College students are rich anyway no problems with that lol

That is verry true, my betta enjoys parading across the tank and trying to steal the attention from all the other fish. if you want a bigger tank get clown loaches they are soooo fun to watch especialy if theres a sand bottom (they dig!) if not polkadot loaches are entertaining they are good...
