    Ich Help

I came home today and found that my entire tropical community was infected with ich! I've turned up the heat to 89•F (is that okay?) and I've treated the tank with both ich guard tablets and rid ich. What else can I do? I'm freakin out and the thought of losing any of my fish is terrifying...

    How close?

Thanks. I'll keep looking and ill see if I can find any fry. I might add a few guppies or possibly move the pair of platys into the other tank. Thanks :)

    How close?

Here's an update: She stayed in the fry tank for three days without giving birth. Se stopped eating, which I took as a food sign, but when I got home today she had lost a fair amount of her bulge. She still looks pregnant, and I know that she didn't give birth. She looks like she still needs...

    Stocking my fish tank???

Rainbow sharks get pretty big.. I don't think that it would have enough space with the rest of the tankmates.

    Stocking my fish tank???

Yeah, the stock would work and I think that you would have a little space left over for future additions.

    platy help

They look like variatus platys IMO. As far as sexing them, the females have a triangular back fin, while the males have a pointy fin called gonopodium. Search up pics on google and you'll see. One of them may be in the early stages of pregnancy, but it's hard to tell.

    Dying fish -- HELP!!

I would've gone that route too, but she said that her/his levels were good. What were the levels exactly ink lover? Did the tests read for a cycled tank?

    Dying fish -- HELP!!

No, I did. I just think though that if they have been changing it every month it would not kill so many fish at once if there had not been any previous problems.

    Dying fish -- HELP!!

IMO the fish at petsmart can be fairly sickly. With your situation I think that the fish you bought recently were disease cariers and infected the entire tank. I would buy some parasite stuff and treat the tank. ParasiteGuard tablets work great for me. If the filter change is a regular thing I...

    How close?

It's probably better if I leave her... Right? I do not want to stress her out too early or cause her to abort. I'll keep a close eye on her and see how she looks tomorrow. I think I'll move her tomorrow night. I'm really not sure. What would you do?

    How close?

Thanks so much. I have some plants that I can move around in there and ill cover the filter intake. So from the pictures do you think she still has a day or two before I should move her? Or should I move her now so she adjusts to the tank?

    How close?

I purchased a breeder box. I think that I'll use it just because she will never pass up a chance to eat. If she does give birth when I'm not there I want to be sure that the fry will survive.

    How close?

Hey guys. I hate these threads too, but I really need help figuring out this Molly. How close is she to popping? I really want to keep the fry so I need to know when I should move her!! Thanks so much in advance. She is still eating and staying with the group by the way...

    Feeding My Pleco

An excellent suggestion as well. All of the others tire early while the pleco remains active. That is probably the best time to feed him as the others would've just eaten.

    Feeding My Pleco

Thanks. I've heard that some of the other fish might not like it even so that sounds like a great idea. :) :thumb:

I switched to a black background. What do you think of my theme idea?

I think Greenbay is the way to go... You know, cause they're awesome :)

    Feeding My Pleco

Thanks, I'll try that. He just isn't fast enough to eat his food before they get to him. :)

    Feeding My Pleco

Hey guys. If you read my last thread you know that I was getting a pleco. Well, last Saturday i drove across town a purchased a small, striped bristle nose (I think, it could be spotted too). Anyway, he has been a great help around my tank and I've already grown attached to him, but feeding him...

    Best Way Starting Guppy Farm?

How big is your tank? Because as soon as they start breeding they won't stop. I would get more adult females from the LFS because even when farming you don't want inbreeding. What's your overall plan? Farming isn't easy and you must think it through. Be careful why you wish for... :)

    Still no babies.

I've heard that live bearers can hold off dropping fry for a long time if they want. Bringing the temperature up might induce birthing. Hope this helped :)
  23. AlexandraDanielle21

    is it normal

I think so. They can hold off for up to 2 months before dropping their fry.

    Platy Breeding

Sometimes I've heard that it could've been constipation if you see stringy white poop.

    Platy Breeding

I am considering adding some females of a different colour, in hopes of getting a variety. I just don't want to have several knocked up females at the same time. It can be risky.
