    ?biological media advice plz?

I have a 29gal BioCube reef aquarium that is tweaked a bit differently from one straight from a box. I attached a diagram of how a BioCube straight from the box is suppose to operate. In the diagram where it shows a filter I have a skimmer, I use cut and fit blue and white filter pads under the...

    My Colonial Leather Coral

Here is a pic of a very stable upright cabbage colony. If its growing then I'm thrilled to death if its sickly I'm discounted yet again from getting a colony started

    My Colonial Leather Coral

This guy is a major survivor! He's an original occupant from when I rescued the tank however this I'm not sure if him dislodging from the rock and forming those nodules as seen in the pics is a good thing or bad thing. He's not loose, still firmly attached so that comforts me. So I'm asking is...

    Bristle Worms

I have live plants, macro algae, growing very very well. My experience with copper and live plants is it ends badly for the plants. It makes them less fertile which it not an issue in my tank. I just recently had to give fern and grape macro a hair cut. New growth loving the space.

    Feather Duster Disruption

Well I wasn't sure if it would increase the nitrate level or something. The fact the nw guys have been shipped in the first place was stress enough. Since I'm new I just wanted to make sure. I like your reference "jollies" lol since it's doing this asexual. I felt like I should have taped a pic...

    Feather Duster Disruption

Ok so I have 1 feather duster who's making efforts to reproduce today and making quite a haze in the tank. I wouldn't be worried except that I'm due 2 MO arrivals today. Under normal circumstances I would postpone adding anyone to the tank until my lil duster finished his parade. However, I...

    Bristle Worms

I had also noticed a worm type thing that extends from a hole that wiggled and swayed similar to an anemone tentacle. I couldn't get a good look or a pic but its very smooth in texture, dark in color, and retracts back into the hole with any light source. I see more than one but the largest at...

    Bristle Worms

To be absolutely honest no I can't. The LFS owner I bought the tank from was relocating his store. I live near Panama City here in Florida. Many pet shops kennel pets and tanks for the seasonal residents. My tank was an abandoned tank by its owner. We call them "snow birds" down here because...

I found this tiny wiggly guy on the glass after I did a water change. I know he's not a bristle.

    tank temp has.been steady rising..

I agree that a pump can warm the tank due to the functioning of it. Not because of something straying electrically. I live In Florida and I don't use heater either as someone mentioned before.

    tank temp has.been steady rising..

I read it all and the big words and outlandish theories. A "stray" voltage would turn the water into an electrical soup before it would just warm the water. Instead of syfy let's keep our feet on this planet and think logically. Wireless devices have yet to be completely fail proof. Also the...

    tank temp has.been steady rising..

Mr. Jeffaquarius have you offered actual advice to this thread or are you doing to this fella the same as you did to me? I mean high temps are life or death for the corals. My temporary suggestion is lift the lid and turn down the A/C. I've had communication issues with wireless devices in the...

    Pet store advice?

I'm not actually answering that question as much as throwing out my experience. Sometimes the owners of the coral shops buy from individuals and that infected the shop owner tanks. What I do is the cup acclimation which I do separately in a bowl. So I'm able to see if there's any gooies on it...

    Bristle Worms

Thank you for actual advice. Yes it's THAT bad bacteria that I've been struggling with. And usually during the day of the ChemiClean treament I take the time to look over the rock to see its at and pull a sad looking rock out an wash and rinse, as you said in the quote. I feed my fish 1/4-1/3 a...

    Preferred Testing Method

:) thank you for the reading it was a bad testing I know. That was before I had a skimmer and then carbon bag filter. And the issue is the bacterias. But is this kit a suitable kit and should I be testing for other things? I've been asked about my calcium level and the copper. Makes me believe I...

    Preferred Testing Method

Howdy :) So many times as I read thru the threads the question "What's your pH at?" "What is ammonia reading so far?" A lot hinges on these test results. They literally can be life or death. I use the same kit my LFS (<- look I'm catching on) uses. I use an API Master Test Kit. It tests pH...

I'm sorry have you read this entire thread? Because I told Bray84 almost that exact first sentence of yours and he contested how wrong I was there. I joined this forum for advice and at fist I was so delighted at how helpful and nice everyone here was. I received tons of helpful advice however...
